SKIN CARE
ahhhhhhh I’ve struggled with acne for YEARS.
Recently (as of 2 weeks) I’ve noticed that I break out after a workout and if I spend time in the sauna or outside in the humidity/heat… key causes of fungal acne. I also noticed that little clusters of bumps were forming that were 1) itchy 2) small on my cheeks (not a common place for normal hormonal acne)
I know my skin very well so after some quick research and a little $$$—
I’m trying my hand of products used to combat fungal acne.
Some products I currently have just won’t work for fungal acne so I included those as well for your knowledge :)
Hope this helps & I’ll keep y’all updated as best I can
Fungal acne can be quite bothersome, especially when it manifests after physical activities like workouts or exposure to heat and humidity. Understanding the causes and triggers is crucial in managing this type of acne effectively. Avoiding heavy, oil-based products during flare-ups can help reduce irritation and promote healing. Incorporating lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizers such as Vanicream can also prove beneficial in keeping the skin hydrated without clogging pores. Additionally, products containing ingredients like pyrithione zinc, found in some dandruff shampoos like Head & Shoulders, can be applied to affected areas to combat fungal overgrowth. Regular use can ease inflammation and prevent future breakouts. For those looking for more intensive treatments, masks containing sulfur, like the Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask, can help clear pores and soothe irritation effectively. Always patch test new products and consult with a dermatologist if you have persistent issues or are unsure about product compatibility with your skin type.
