ditl — preschool homeschool time

It snowed 6 inches here last night and I have to say makes me so thankful to homeschool, not worrying about if school is being cancelled and not worrying about getting out in it. And honestly all winter we have been living for cold cozy days doing school time in our pjs 🤪

I feel like we’ve finally got a good routine going with homeschool and so happy to see my 4 year old enjoying it so much. First thing he is asking every morning is if we can do homeschool time 🫶🏼 I have really struggled with finding a curriculum I love. Most even at preschool age seem mostly sit down workbook style and that is just not ideal for my son or this age in my opinion. I purchased a play based curriculum and wasn’t a huge fan still. So honestly I have been doing my own thing, finding play based activities online and supplementing some more workbook type stuff once a day and it’s been working great!

If you’re a homeschool mama, especially of a very young one, this is your sign to not stress and trust you know your child and how they are going to thrive best 🤍 and that’s the beauty of homeschooling - tailoring it to you and your family!

With the snowy winter backdrop, many homeschooling families embrace the cozy indoor days, using them to implement engaging educational activities tailored to their child's interests. Parents often seek out diverse resources, steering away from traditional workbook methods to more interactive and hands-on learning experiences. This not only keeps the learning enjoyable but also addresses various developmental milestones, such as identifying shapes, colors, and numbers. Integrating concepts like the alphabet and simple mathematics can be seamlessly done through games and creative play. To enrich these activities, parents can utilize online resources that offer ideas for crafts, sensory play, and other engaging projects. This approach fosters a love for learning while allowing flexibility in routines. Ultimately, the essence of homeschooling is about connecting with your child's unique learning style, cultivating an environment where curiosity and creativity thrive, and making the most out of the cozy together time during winter season.
