☆ | things to do when stressed!

!! - none of these photos are mine!

★ - try these things to help calm you down! i have experience of being very overwhelmed and stressed. these are some things that helped me relax, calm down, and feel better about my current state.

★ - remember that not everyone has the same attention span. if you get bored of something easily, such as reading or journaling, take a break! if you don’t take a break, you could sit there bored. that’s not good for your mental health as you aren’t being productive. productivity is proven to increase your mood!

!!! - take a break from ALL social media while doing these. social media can increase stress and lower energy levels. being on your phone all day isn’t good for you! especially not tiktok. tiktok has way too many ads and can also sometimes stop you from doing other productive things as you’re too addicted to scrolling on it.

!!! - tying with the social media break, make sure you’re not on your phone while doing these. i’d say the only apps i’d have open while doing these things are spotify (or any music app you prefer), my notes app as i like to journal there, and a reading app if im reading online!

enjoy your relaxation break!!

much love, sam. ♥︎

... Read moreWhen feeling stressed, engaging in calming activities can significantly improve your mental well-being. Here are some suggestions to help you unwind: 1. **Journaling**: Writing down your thoughts and emotions can help clear your mind and process your feelings. Journaling has been shown to reduce anxiety and enhance self-awareness. Even if you prefer digital formats, countless apps can help facilitate this practice. 2. **Reading**: Dive into a good book or an engaging article. Reading not only distracts your mind from stressors but also improves concentration and relaxation. Whether you prefer fiction or non-fiction, this activity provides a productive escape from daily pressures. 3. **Mindful Eating**: Taking the time to enjoy delicious meals can also contribute to mood improvement. Make a conscious effort to savor meals and choose nutritious options. Cooking can be an excellent way to relax, so try preparing your favorite dish! 4. **Digital Detox**: Stepping away from all social media platforms can work wonders for your mental health. Limiting screen time reduces anxiety levels and allows for a more mindful approach to relaxation. Use that time to engage in offline hobbies instead! 5. **Music and Creativity**: Listening to relaxing music or indulging in creative activities—like painting or crafting—can help soothe your mind. Consider curating a playlist of your favorite calming tracks and take time to engage in a creative outlet of your choice. Incorporating these strategies into your daily routine can provide a significant stress relief and lead to improved emotional health.
