My FAVORITE pages/cards in my $800 collection
I know collecting isn’t all about value, but heck I paid for these cards! (most of them at least.)
My most expensive card would be Mew EX (last slide.)
My top favorite has to be my Eeveelutions page. This is my front page to the binder and there are 3 other full pages of Eeveelutions. #pokemoncards #pokemoncollector #vintagepokemon #pokemoncommunity #pokemontcg #pokemon
Hey fellow collectors! It’s always so exciting to share our prized Pokémon card collections, and I know many of you are just as curious as I am about what makes certain cards special, or even how much they're worth. My original post highlighted some of my absolute favorites, like my beloved Eeveelutions page and the stunning Mew EX card, which is definitely one of my most valuable. When it comes to understanding how much a card is worth, there are a few key things to consider. First, condition is king! A perfectly graded card, like a PSA 10, will always fetch more than one with scratches or wear. Rarity also plays a huge role; cards with holographic patterns, VMAX, VSTAR, or EX designations, and especially secret rares, tend to be more sought after. For example, my Mew EX, though not an $800 card on its own (the entire collection is valued around that!), is a fantastic example of a high-demand card that collectors love. Others like the Hisuian Zoroark or Rocket's Zapdos, mentioned in my binder, also hold value depending on their specific print and condition. Even older cards like Suicune or Shaymin can be surprisingly valuable if they’re in great shape. Many of you might also wonder about specific cards like the Darkrai EX promo BW46. Promo cards, especially older ones, can sometimes be quite valuable due to their limited release. To calculate a card's worth, I often check recent sold listings on sites like eBay or TCGPlayer. These platforms give a real-time snapshot of what collectors are actually paying. Grading services like PSA or Beckett can also provide a professional valuation, especially for your most cherished cards. While we often focus on the rarest and most expensive cards, it's important to remember that every collection starts somewhere, and even the 'least rare' Pokémon cards have a place. My collection isn't just about the monetary value; it's about the joy of finding a Totodile to complete a set, or seeing my Lunala Evolutions page come together. Organizing them in a binder, perhaps even with a fun pink Pokémon binder page (if that's your style!), makes the collection feel even more personal and special. Protecting your collection is crucial to maintaining its value. I always use penny sleeves and top loaders for my more valuable cards to prevent any damage. Keeping them in a sturdy binder ensures they stay safe and sound for years to come. What are some methods you use to protect your collection, and what are your absolute favorite cards, regardless of their price tag? Let me know!
