Gym girlies!!

New to Lemon8!

Here’s my first post! But if you’re in the gym, progress can be intimidating especially if your weeks fluctuate. Learning to lift in accordance to your cycle will help you so much! Sometimes I notice a difference of up to 30lbs and it always discouraged me until I realized why I couldn’t do the same weight! Hope this helps.

... Read moreFor many women, navigating the gym while managing their menstrual cycle can be a unique challenge. Studies have shown that hormonal changes impact strength and endurance, leading to fluctuations in gym performance throughout the month. Understanding this connection can significantly help female athletes set realistic goals and maintain motivation. By tracking their cycle, gym-goers can be more prepared for strength variations and peak performance days, allowing them to adjust their workout regimens accordingly. For example, many find they perform better during the follicular phase of their cycle when energy levels tend to be higher. On the flip side, recognizing that performance might dip during the luteal phase can lead to a more forgiving approach to training. Incorporating lighter workouts or focusing on different muscle groups during this time can help maintain enthusiasm and prevent burnout. Furthermore, sharing experiences within communities like #gymgirlies or #gymmotivation encourages mutual support and accountability among members, fostering a positive environment for growth. Many women find solace in understanding they aren't alone in their experience and that sharing tips can lead to collective improvement. Remember, every individual's cycle can vary, so it's important to listen to your body and adjust workouts based on personal experiences. By embracing these insights, gym girlies can enhance their fitness experience and achieve their goals with confidence and camaraderie.
