After countless in-game seasons, I've learned that turning your raw harvest into artisan goods using kegs and preserve jars is the ultimate money-maker. It’s not just about planting; it’s about smart processing! Maximizing with Kegs: Your Wine & Juice Empire When it comes to high-profit artisan goods, wine and juice made in kegs are king. Here are my favorite crops for filling those kegs, drawing insights from what other farmers are curious about: Starfruit Wine: Hands down, Starfruit wine is a champion. You'll need to unlock the Desert for Starfruit seeds, but once you get a steady supply, pop them into a keg. Each Starfruit wine keg can net you a whopping 2250g (base price)! Imagine that with the Artisan perk! Ancient Fruit Wine: Another powerhouse is Ancient Fruit wine. Once you find an Ancient Seed, plant it in your greenhouse for year-round harvesting. Each Ancient Fruit wine keg production yields 1650g (base price). It's a long-term investment that pays off immensely. Melon Wine: Don't forget about Melon wine for your summer harvests! Melons are a great summer crop, and processing them in a keg gives you a respectable 750g (base price). Pineapple Wine/Juice: If you've unlocked Ginger Island, Pineapple is a fantastic multi-harvest crop. Turning them into wine or juice (900g base price) significantly boosts your income. Cauliflower Juice: For a solid spring crop, Cauliflower juice is a strong contender, fetching 393g (base price). It's a reliable early-game profit booster. Artichoke Wine/Juice: In fall, make sure to consider Artichoke crop for processing. An Artichoke processed into wine or juice can bring in 360g (base price). Rhubarb Wine/Juice: Rhubarb, purchased from the Desert Trader, also makes good wine, with a base value of 360g. Other Profitable Crops & Products to Consider: Beyond these top-tier wines, other items can keep the gold flowing: Pumpkin Juice: While not as high as Starfruit, don't underestimate Pumpkin juice in the fall! Pumpkins are easy to grow and provide a nice boost to your earnings, especially if you have extra kegs. Blueberry Crop: Blueberries are fantastic for a continuous summer harvest. While great on their own, turning your excess blueberry crop into wine or juice adds even more profit, making every berry count. Beet: You might primarily think of Beet for sugar, but they can also be juiced for extra cash, offering another option for your fall harvests. Bok Choy: While not as high-profit as wine, growing Bok Choy provides a quick, reliable income, especially early on. It's a fast-growing fall crop that can fund your bigger projects. Beyond Crops: Roe & Unmilled Rice Roe: If you're into fishing, setting up fish ponds is a must. Sturgeon Roe, for instance, can be turned into Aged Roe in a preserve jar, which sells for a high price. Don't forget other roe types can also be processed for good money! Unmilled Rice: Did you know you can process unmilled rice in a mill to get regular rice? It’s a small but steady income source if you have excess rice shoots from growing it in the summer or by purchasing from Pierre. Kegs vs. Jars: The Artisan Choice The 'KEGS vs JARS' debate is one every farmer faces! Generally, kegs are used for wine, beer, and mead, which have higher values but longer processing times. Preserve jars make pickles and jams, which process faster and offer excellent profit, though usually slightly less than aged wine. Plan your setup based on your time, space, and desired yield. My advice? Have a good mix! Optimizing Your Setup To maximize your Stardew Valley kegs and preserve jar production, build sheds and fill them! Think about efficient layouts for planting your Starfruit, Ancient Fruit, and other high-value crops to streamline harvesting. The more you can process, the richer you'll become, turning your simple farm into a true empire!
