🤍 My Story: I’ve always struggled with skin picking and anxiety. My graduation was coming up and my stress was at an ALL TIME HIGH. I looked at myself and couldn’t believe what I had done through my anxiety and knew I didn’t have much time to reverse the clock on my spots. I went very very fast and was very harsh on my skin. If you can afford to do this in a more gentle way please do so. The last photo is me on my graduation day.

🤍 How I Felt: I was very nervous and meticulous about my skincare routine. I’ve been a long time skin care user so I knew what would and would not hurt my skin. I felt extremely relieved each time I saw a dark spot fading.

🤍 My Takeaways: SPF is your best friend. Spot test your skin. Take things slow if you can. All products will work different for you. If you are POC with oily skin this routine may work for you in a pinch. Just remember even TAN and BLACK skin can be damaged by the sun. Use your SPF ALWAYS.

I would start the week with a peel, niacinamide, then hyaluronic acid. The next day I would do just hyaluronic acid, and a good cleanser. Then I would do BHA, niacinamide, then hyaluronic acid. And kind of repeat that depending on how my face felt. I would use the night treatment if I got a breakout and I used acne patches to stop myself from picking any further. Lactic acid is a good replacement for the AHA/BHA if you have more sensitive skin. If I don’t have any visible dark spots I’ll use the lactic acid to do a gentle “peel”.
