Organize your vanity! 🌸🧿🧴 #vanity #preppy #makeup (dont mind the blur at the end) Making part 2 at 15 ♡'s !!
Hey everyone! So glad you're here to dive deeper into vanity organization with me. We all know how quickly a makeup desk can go from a beautiful display to a chaotic mess, right? I've been through it, and trust me, a little planning goes a long way. First things first: Decluttering is your best friend. Before you even think about buying storage, pull everything out. Yes, everything! Check expiration dates – seriously, that old mascara or foundation from years ago needs to go. Be honest with yourself about what you actually use. Do you have five primers but only ever reach for one (like that amazing POWER GRIP PRIMER)? Keep your favorites and let go of the rest. This step alone can free up so much space and make your vanity feel instantly lighter. Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to categorize your treasures. This is where the fun begins and where you can tailor it to your routine. Think about how you apply your makeup. I like to group by type: Base Products: This includes your primers (like those MIIK MAKEUP ones!), foundations (Hollipeod FLAWLESS, anyone?), and concealers (Tarte has some great ones!). Keep these together, perhaps in a shallow drawer or a small clear tray, so they're easy to grab when you start your routine. Eye Essentials: Mascaras (TELESCOPIC LIFT!), eyeliners, eyeshadow palettes. A dedicated cup or a skinny drawer divider works wonders here. Cheeky Choices: Blushes (Rare Beauty is a favorite!), highlighters, bronzers. These often come in compacts, so a tiered organizer or a small drawer insert can keep them neat and visible. Lip Lovers: Lip oils (hello, Gisou!), lipsticks, glosses, liners. I find small acrylic organizers with individual slots perfect for these, preventing them from rolling around. Setting & Finishing: Your setting powders (FIUDABEAUTY MORPHE!), setting sprays. These can often be stored a little further back or in a larger compartment since they're usually the last step. Now, let’s talk about storage solutions. You don't need to break the bank! Drawer Dividers: These are a game-changer. You can find adjustable ones or simple plastic trays that fit perfectly into your vanity drawers, preventing items from rolling into a jumbled mess. Clear Acrylic Organizers: My absolute favorite! They let you see everything at a glance, making your routine so much faster. I use them for everything from lip products to brush holders. Trays and Platters: For items you want to keep on top of your vanity for easy access or aesthetic display, a pretty tray can keep them contained and looking chic. Think perfumes, your most-used primer, or a beautiful brush set. Vertical Storage: If you have limited counter space, think upwards! Tiered organizers, small shelves, or even wall-mounted magnetic strips for small metal items can be super helpful. Finally, maintaining your organized vanity is key. Make it a habit to put things back in their designated spots after each use. A quick tidy-up once a week can prevent clutter from creeping back in. It's amazing how much more enjoyable your makeup routine becomes when everything has a home and you can easily find exactly what you need. I hope these tips help you create your own perfectly organized and functional makeup space! What are your go-to organization tricks?
