🍀MARCH 2024 JUNK JOURNAL FLIP THROUGH🍀 pt. 1✨
These are some of the first few pages I’ve completed in my junk journal! I love junk journaling because it’s become a cheap, low effort way to stay creative. Below I’ve included how I do it. These aren’t hard and fast rules; just what works for me. there’s no right way to junk journal!
✨ I try to use found objects and things that are just sitting around the house when I can. Think receipts, photos, wrappers, etc. I love the idea of using what you have instead of going out and buying a bunch of stuff, but if you wanna hit the craft store, more power to you! Thankfully I have started and stopped many art projects over the years and have a bunch of cute stuff shoved in a box😅
✨ writing an entry is optional. Sometimes if I’m having a bad day it’s enough for me to just write “I’m grumpy!” Having a page that is mostly or entirely a collage is a really nice stress reliever as well. I’ll use bullet points to summarize my day from time to time. But you never have to write anything down at all if you don’t want to!
✨ Other times, I need most of the page for writing.
✨ you don’t need a plan!
I’ve tried bullet journaling in the past but found myself getting overwhelmed and frustrated trying to find the right format. And traditional journaling didn’t really satisfy me artistically. Sometimes I don’t want to painstakingly write cutesy headers (my handwriting is awful), color coordinate, or write huge paragraphs. Sometimes I just really want to glue sh*t on paper and call it a day!
How do you utilize your junk journal? Let me know if you have any ideas/tips

Junk journaling is a delightful way to express creativity while using items you probably already have around the house, like receipts, photos, and wrappers. It allows for artistic freedom without the pressure of perfection. Unlike traditional journaling or bullet journaling, it doesn't require a set format or excessive planning. You can opt for collages or simple entries, making it an excellent way to process emotions or recapture daily moments. The beauty lies in its flexibility, letting you glue down your thoughts and memories without needing cutesy headers or elaborate paragraphs. If you get stuck, draw inspiration from online communities or social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where many share their unique pages and techniques. Consider incorporating visual elements such as sketches or nature-inspired decorations. Exploring themes for your journal can also keep the process exciting and fulfilling. Experiment with mixed media, layering textures, and even integrating poetry or quotes. Remember, your junk journal is a personal space for self-expression, where there are no strict rules. The primary goal is to enjoy the process and celebrate your creativity. Have fun and let your imagination run wild!
