... Read moreGirl, if you're navigating the raw, messy aftermath of a breakup, you're not alone. I've been there, staring at my phone, wondering if my heart would ever feel whole again. The original guide covers some truly essential practices, but I wanted to share a few more personal insights and actionable steps that truly helped me on my journey to 'get over someone' and find genuine peace. This isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving after heartbreak. One of the first things I learned, beyond just letting myself 'CRY IT OUT!', was the power of active emotional processing. It's not enough to just shed tears; you also need to understand what you're feeling. I started journaling every single day. No filter, just raw thoughts. Sometimes it was anger, sometimes sadness, sometimes a confusing mix of both. This practice helped me externalize my pain and prevented it from festering inside. It was a tangible way to acknowledge all those feelings, before they overwhelmed me. It helped me clear my system so I could focus on other parts of my 'healing journey'. When the guide suggests you 'LEAVE YOUR SPACE!', it’s brilliant advice. But what if you can't? What if your home is your sanctuary, or you just don't have another option? I found that creating a new routine within my existing space made a huge difference. I rearranged furniture, bought a new plant, or simply cleaned out a closet – anything to signal a fresh start. I also made a conscious effort to find new "happy places" outside my home, even if it was just a quiet park bench or a new coffee shop. This created new memories not tied to the past relationship, slowly replacing the old associations. The idea of 'VISUALISE YOUR FUTURE!!' was a game-changer for me. It’s not just about seeing yourself happy; it's about feeling it. I’d spend 10-15 minutes each morning, eyes closed, imagining specific details: a new hobby I'd pick up, a trip I'd take, the feeling of accomplishment from reaching a personal goal. This wasn't about revenge-leveling up, but about genuine self-improvement and reclaiming my narrative. It helped me shift focus from what I'd lost to what I could still achieve, and it became a powerful motivator to 'level up' my life for *myself*. Feel that determination and anger if you have it, and use it to fuel your growth. And speaking of 'LIST WHAT YOU GAIN!', this exercise can be tough initially. When you're hurting, all you see are losses. But I challenged myself to dig deeper. Beyond the obvious "gained inner peace" if they were aggressive, I started noticing smaller, everyday gains. Gaining back time to read, gaining freedom to plan my weekends exactly how I wanted, gaining the mental energy to focus on my career goals. These weren't just theoretical; they were real, tangible improvements that slowly chipped away at the feeling of emptiness. It’s about reframing your perspective until your heart truly feels lighter. Finally, regarding 'DON'T DELETE YOUR PHOTOS! (YET)', this was incredibly hard for me. The urge to erase everything was strong. But the advice to move them to a separate folder on a computer was genius. It put them out of sight, out of immediate emotional triggering, but preserved them. Eventually, I was able to look back at those memories not with pain, but with a sense of gratitude for the lessons learned and the person I’d become. It truly is part of the 'healing process' to acknowledge your past without letting it define your present. Remember, 'BE PATIENT!' with yourself throughout this entire process. Healing isn't linear, and there will be good days and bad days. But with each intentional step, you're building a stronger, more resilient you. You've got this!
