AIRPORT GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS!✈️

Okay let me be the traveling big sister you’re looking for…if you are wanting to travel more but aren’t used to the travel process from airport departures to arriving at your destination, I got you. All questions and unknowing’s in travel are valid and I hope this guide can simplify the sometimes daunting process of travel for your first time!

AIRPORT ARRIVAL:

If your driving up to the airport and you see signs for departure, that is exactly where you need to be going. Departures will have signs up with the designated airlines so go to the door with the airline you’re flying with and start the check in process.

CHECK IN:

I always recommend downloading the app for the airline you are traveling with because it will give you updates on your flight, has direct access to help if needed, and it lets you check in 24 hours before your flight. Because I don’t usually check bags on trips, I almost always check in for flights before getting to the airport so I can go straight to security. However, if you are checking bags you will have to check in at your airline counter and you can only do that max 3 hours before your flight departure.

SECURITY:

Now the superrrrr fun part…security. (Hint, hint, it’s not the most fun)😭. But to make the process quicker and less stressful here’s what you gotta know. Go in line and have your ID and boarding pass ready for when it’s your turn. After being checked you’ll go into another line to start prepping yourself and your bags to go through security. Unless told otherwise, talke off shoes, extra hoodies, and any medal accessories. As for your bag, take out all liquids and electronics!

GATE:

Ok YAY you’ve gotten over the tough part now you can go find your gate that’s on you’re boarding pass! Once you find your gate (which I always suggest you do right away even if it seems far away) then you can start walking around and look for food, snacks, booked and all the other great things airport mini shops have.😂

BOARDING:

20-30 minutes before your flight starts boarding, go back to your gate and sit patiently for any updates, changes, or boarding info. Planes board by groups 1-6 so when you hear your group, go get in line and get ready to board.

PLANE:

You’re on your flight now how exciting! Go find your seat, put away your bags, buckle up, and enjoy the ride! If you are on a 6+ hour flight it is most likely that your flight will be providing you a meal, sometimes a little blanket, and a little TV screen for entertainment.

DESTINATION ARRIVAL:

After your trip has landed, your going to follow the signs to the exit and baggage claim. If you are traveling internationally you’ll have to go through immigration/customs on your way out to exit. If you checked bags then go to baggage claim and watch the screens for your flight number to know which carousel your suitcase is on. After that you are all set and ready to exit the airport and start enjoying your trip!🙌

... Read moreTraveling through an airport for the first time can be a challenging experience, but it doesn’t have to be! Being informed is key to a seamless journey. Start by checking your flight information online and downloading your airline's app to stay updated. When you arrive at the airport, look for signs directing you to the departures area. If you're checking luggage, make sure to arrive early enough to allow for this process. Remember to have your ID and boarding pass ready when you reach security. This will help you get through the lines more efficiently. As you prepare your belongings for security, know that certain items may need to be removed from your bag. Liquids should be placed in a separate bin, while shoes and jackets may also be required to be removed. Once you’ve completed this step, find your gate listed on your boarding pass. It's a good idea to locate your gate as soon as possible; then, you can explore the airport's amenities! Take a moment to grab a snack or do some last-minute shopping. As your boarding time approaches, listen for announcements regarding your flight. Boarding typically occurs in groups, so pay attention to when your group is called. Finally, once you're settled on the plane, relax and know that you’re on your way to an exciting new destination. From takeoff to landing, enjoy the journey as much as the destination itself! Safe travels await you!

Just so you guys know on your flight your ears will pop like hell especially in the end this is because of the altitude and air pressure bring gum with you or you can even take a simple allergy medicine like Benadryl and stuff like that
