Organizing my dream vanity!!🎀

... Read moreHey everyone! I'm so excited to finally tackle organizing my dream vanity with me – it's been a project I've dreamed about for ages. If you're anything like me, your makeup desk can quickly become a chaotic mess of products, brushes, and half-empty bottles. But fear not! I've recently undergone a major declutter and reorganizing spree, and I'm here to share all the tips and tricks that made my space not just functional, but truly beautiful. First things first: declutter, declutter, declutter! This is probably the hardest part, but it’s essential. Go through every single item. Check expiration dates on makeup and skincare (yes, they do expire!). If you haven't used something in six months to a year, it's probably time to let it go. Be honest with yourself – do you really need those five similar nude lipsticks? Creating three piles – 'keep,' 'toss,' and 'donate/sell' – really helps streamline the process. I was amazed at how much space I gained just by getting rid of unused or expired products! Once your vanity is cleared, it’s time to think about functionality. How do you use your space? What are your daily essentials? For my dream vanity, I wanted everything to be easily accessible but also neatly tucked away. This is where different storage options come in handy. Drawer Organizers: These are lifesavers for makeup desks! I invested in some clear acrylic dividers for my drawers. They keep foundations, concealers, and palettes from rolling around. Small compartments are perfect for lipsticks, mascaras, and eyeliners. Acrylic Storage Towers: For items I use daily, like my current favorite skincare routine or go-to makeup brushes, I love clear acrylic tiered organizers. They look sleek and let me see everything at a glance. It's so satisfying to have my brushes standing upright and dust-free. Trays & Dishes: For perfumes, dainty jewelry, or often-used hand creams, decorative trays are perfect. They gather smaller items into one spot, making the surface look less cluttered and more curated. Wall-Mounted Shelves/Pegboards: If you're short on surface space, don't forget your walls! Small floating shelves can hold decorative items or extra products. A pegboard can be customized with baskets and hooks for hair tools or frequently used accessories. This is a brilliant way to maximize vertical space. A huge tip for organizing your vanity is to group like items together. Keep all your eye makeup in one section, all your lip products in another, and skincare essentials separate. This makes your morning routine so much faster because you’re not rummaging around. Finally, the key to a long-lasting organized space is maintenance. I try to do a quick tidy-up every night, putting things back in their designated spots. And once a month, I do a slightly deeper clean and re-evaluation. It really helps prevent the clutter from creeping back in. I hope these vanity organization ideas help you create your own perfect makeup sanctuary! Having an organized make up desk truly makes getting ready a more enjoyable and peaceful experience.
