Why i regret

... Read moreWhen I first decided to get my conch piercing, I was so excited! I'd seen so many stunning examples on social media, especially on TikTok, and loved how it added a unique sparkle to the ear. The actual piercing itself was surprisingly painless – just a quick pinch and it was done! What I didn't fully anticipate, though, was the challenging conch piercing healing process. For the first few weeks, I'd rate the pain around a 7/10, mostly due to tenderness, swelling, and a persistent throbbing sensation. Sleeping became an art form, requiring a travel pillow to avoid putting pressure on my new bling. I diligently followed my piercer's aftercare advice, using saline solution twice a day and doing my absolute best not to touch it. Despite my efforts, it felt like an uphill battle. There were definitely moments during those early months where I questioned my decision and felt a pang of piercing regret. The OCR mentioned "Why I regret Piercing My conch," and honestly, for a while there, I almost did – not because I disliked the piercing, but purely because of the discomfort of the healing! The conch piercing healing timeline really tested my patience. It wasn't just about the pain; it was also about the constant need for vigilance. Around the 3-month mark, I started to feel a bit more comfortable, but it was still prone to irritation bumps if I accidentally bumped it or slept on it wrong. Finding jewelry that didn't irritate it was another hurdle, as my OCR noted: "I also have found it hard to find that fit and don't irritate the piercing." Initial flat-back labrets were essential, but I was eager to switch to a cute hoop. Patience is truly a virtue with cartilage piercings! Compared to my lobe piercings, conch healing is in a different league. While I haven't experienced eyebrow piercing healing stages firsthand, I've heard similar stories about cartilage taking its sweet time. The conch, being in a high-traffic area of the ear, just seemed to face more accidental bumps. My advice for anyone considering it? Invest in a good travel pillow from day one, be prepared for a marathon healing journey, and listen to your body. Now, 6 months in, I can happily say I absolutely love my conch piercing! The initial thoughts of regret have completely vanished. It's finally settled, and I've been able to experiment with different gold jewelry and even hoop earrings that complement my ear stack perfectly. The $60 I paid for the piercing feels like a small price for something I cherish daily. If you're thinking about it, just be prepared for the healing, and you'll adore the result!
