how to get a PERFECT BIKINI SHAVE every time! 👏🏼🪒👙

Let’s be real… NO ONE likes having razor bumps or ingrown hairs ESPECIALLY when you’re wearing a bikini! ❌👙

I’ve pretty much PERFECTED my shaving routine to get a perfectly smooth and clean shave every single time.

There are specific products that I use to ensure I’m getting that close shave but there’s also a few tips that I have to help you avoid razor bumps and ingrown hairs after shaving!! 🙏🏼

👏🏼PRODUCTS I ALWAYS USE:

• an exfoliating bath cloth

• clean, sharp razors

• Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Body Oil (or coconut oil)

• PanOxyl (any face wash with Benzoyl Peroxide)

• The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution

🪒TIPS FOR A PERFECT SHAVE:

• ALWAYS gently exfoliate before shaving

• make sure you’re changing out your razor often (you won’t get a clean shave with a dull razor, which can also irritate the skin and cause razor bumps/ingrown hairs)

• use some sort of oil based product to use for shaving (I completely avoid shaving creams)

• avoiding shaving on a daily basis - especially the bikini area as the sensitive bikini line can be prone to ingrown hairs and razor bumps when you shave back to back every day)

• use a face wash with benzoyl peroxide to keep the area clean and remove bacteria

• use the glycolic solution on days you’re not shaving to help prevent/avoid razor bumps, ingrown hairs and to lighten the bikini line area

HOT GIRLS DO NOT GATEKEEP! And these tips have helped me get a perfect bikini shave every single time.

I live in Florida so I wear bikinis all year round so I’ve tried and tested these products and tips long enough to KNOW they work (for me anyway!)

Let me know in the comments if you have any additional tips or products you like to use to get a clean shave! 🩷

... Read moreOkay, let's be real – achieving a truly perfect and smooth bikini line shave without a single razor bump or ingrown hair can feel like a mythical quest! I’ve been there, battling irritation and feeling self-conscious, especially when I just wanted to feel confident in my swimwear. But through a lot of trial and error, I've developed a routine that consistently gives me the results I'm looking for, and I'm so excited to share all the nitty-gritty details to help you too! Getting a smooth bikini line safely, without irritation, is all about the right steps and products. Here's my expanded step-by-step guide to ensure you're shaving your bikini area safely and effectively: 1. The Warm-Up & Exfoliation (Crucial First Step!): Never, ever shave on dry or cold skin. I always start with a warm shower or bath for at least 5-10 minutes. This softens the hair and opens up your pores, making for a much easier and safer shave. After my skin is prepped, I gently exfoliate the area using an exfoliating bath cloth. This isn't just a suggestion; it’s a non-negotiable step to lift away dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. It helps ensure a perfectly smooth surface for your razor. 2. Choose Your Shaving Medium Wisely: While many reach for traditional shaving gels or creams, my secret weapon for a truly smooth bikini line shave is an oil-based product. I personally swear by Palmer's Cocoa Butter Body Oil (or even just coconut oil if I'm in a pinch!). Unlike some shaving creams that can dry out the skin or leave a residue, oil provides an incredible glide, reducing friction and protecting your skin from razor burn. Apply a generous layer – you want your skin to feel slick and well-lubricated. This is key to preventing irritation and getting that close, clean shave. 3. The Shaving Technique (Direction Matters!): This is where many go wrong. To shave your bikini line with a razor safely, always start by shaving with the grain (the direction your hair grows). This minimizes irritation. For an even closer shave, you can then apply more oil and go across the grain, or even against the grain very gently, but only if your skin is not prone to extreme sensitivity. Light pressure is key! Let the sharp razor do the work. Remember to rinse your clean, sharp razor after every few strokes to prevent clogging and ensure maximum effectiveness. I also ensure I change out my razor head once it begins to get slightly dull, which is vital for avoiding nicks and razor burn no more. 4. Post-Shave Care for Long-Lasting Smoothness: After shaving, rinse the area with cool water to close your pores, then gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel. This is where my preventative toolkit comes in! I use a face wash with benzoyl peroxide, like PanOxyl ACNE FOAMING WASH, to gently cleanse the area. This helps keep bacteria at bay and actively works to prevent razor bumps. On the days I'm not shaving, I consistently apply The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution with a cotton pad. This chemical exfoliant is fantastic for preventing further ingrown hairs and helps maintain that desired smooth bikini line, even helping to lighten any hyperpigmentation over time. And finally, opt for loose, breathable cotton underwear immediately after shaving to reduce friction and allow your skin to breathe. Consistency with these steps truly leads to saying goodbye ingrowns and achieving that perfect + smooth bikini line shave every time!
