New Industrial ✨

STYLE | I’ve had my industrial piercing for nearly 16 years now & switched out the bar to something I feel suits me more: gold & pearls! I’ve always been a fan of yellow gold & pearl is my birth stone, so when I saw PierceOn on Etsy carry this style, I ordered it right away. Shout out to my best friend, Christian, for helping me replace it - I swear, I can never get it on myself. #style #fashion #jewelry #piercing #industrialpiercing #pearljewelry

... Read moreIt's so exciting to find a unique industrial piercing that truly reflects your personality, just like my new gold and pearl bar! Industrial piercings are definitely statement pieces, but I know from experience that keeping them happy and healthy takes a little TLC. If you're considering one, or already have one and are dealing with issues, you're not alone! One of the most common concerns I hear about—and have dealt with myself in the past—is the dreaded cartilage piercing bump. These little nuisances can pop up for various reasons: sometimes it's trauma to the piercing (like snagging it on clothes or hair), sometimes it's improper aftercare, or even just irritation from certain jewelry materials. My biggest tip? Keep it clean with a saline solution (no harsh chemicals!), avoid touching it, and be patient. Good quality jewelry, like the kind you might find on platforms like Etsy (where I got my PierceOn jewelry), can also make a huge difference in reducing irritation. Make sure your jewelry is implant-grade titanium or surgical stainless steel, especially during the healing process. If a bump does appear, don't pick at it! Continue with your saline soaks and consult a professional piercer if it doesn't improve. They can offer personalized advice and check for underlying issues. Another crucial factor for a successful industrial piercing is your ear anatomy. Not every ear shape is perfectly suited for a traditional industrial. This piercing requires a specific ridge of cartilage (the anti-helix) to support both ends of the bar without putting undue pressure on the piercing holes. If your anti-helix isn't prominent enough, or if your ear folds in a way that creates too much tension, it can lead to constant irritation, prolonged healing, and even migration or rejection of the piercing. Before getting pierced, always consult with an experienced piercer. They can assess your ear shape and let you know if an industrial is a good fit for you. Don't be discouraged if it's not! There are fantastic alternatives like faux industrial piercings (two separate helix piercings connected by a chain or decorative piece) or even multiple straight helix piercings that can give a similar edgy vibe without the anatomical constraints. Speaking of helix piercings, a traditional industrial is essentially two helix piercings connected by a single straight bar. Understanding general helix piercing aftercare, like avoiding sleeping on it and being gentle with hair styling, is vital for your industrial. Sometimes, people opt for just one helix piercing or a mid helix piercing as a stepping stone or a standalone statement. These can also be adorned with beautiful jewelry, just like my gold and pearl piece, offering a touch of elegance or rebellion. Remember, the journey with any piercing is unique, and finding what works best for your body and style is key. Taking care of your piercings not only ensures they heal beautifully but also allows you to enjoy them for many years, just like I've enjoyed my industrial for over 16 years!

Would you recommend getting a industrial? I only have my lobe piercing done right now and can’t decide what to get next.
