pretty home/lock screen is a must!

New to Lemon8 and trying to put myself out there so starting w something easy 🤌🏾

Whenever I get a new phone I always take the time to set it up with the perfect aesthetic. I switch out the backgrounds after like 2 months but I really like this one so she’ll prob be around for a while.

1. Images are always from Pinterest!

➡️ I search up wallpaper aesthetic and it’s a rabbit hole from there. I swear it takes a good hour to decide that’s the one 😂 I also made a board for it so it becomes more personalized over time and I don’t have to keep searching.

2. Widgets

➡️ I use this app called Widgy for the “good evening/music display.” It’s completely customizable from the colors to the weather, even the good morning. It also automatically updates so no need to worry. Its primary function is for music so when you click on it, it will take you to the music app. I love how it updates with the songs I’m listening to.

For some reason the app no longer has a name so I can’t look it up in the App Store but here’s a link to my personal widget! 📲 widgyURL://widgy.icu/api/v1/widgy/9b82a8e5-12aa-4368-b48b-2278f02bfc03 .. this is my first time posting so if the link doesn’t work from here pls let me know and I’ll paste in comments!

➡️ The singular images are from Widgetsmith which is pretty straightforward. You select the size box you want, pick your image/calendar/etc then exit app, edit Home Screen & boom!

➡️ My to do list is from an app called “minimalist” it has other functions such as “Pomodero” which is a timed task tracker. You can also add notes and subtasks. You just cross them off as you’re done & it keeps a log which is nice to reflect on.

➡️ For my girliesssss, the Flo app! Best period tracker to grace the earth. If yk yk not much else to be said 😂

3. App icons!!!!!

➡️ The most tedious but important part imo. Yes it takes take a bit of time but it makes a complete difference. I only have icons on my second screen and nothing on my first so that does make it a bit easier. I like to have a theme so I usually do pastels and change a few to something that compliments my home screen.

WHAT YOU NEED:

➡️ Count how many apps you will be changing so you know how many colors are needed

➡️ I use coolors.co to generate my palette & screenshot from there. It gives an option for image picker which selects colors from your picture as well as a search bar with different color themes and color count. I love it!

➡️ Now you’re gonna use the shortcut app. It should have come with your phone but I won’t be surprised if some people deleted it lol. It actually has a lot of great functions & is amazingggg for automations. I have one set up for Siri to say “wake up and get this money” followed by 7 seconds of my favorite song after I snooze my morning alarm 😂 and another to automatically lower my brightness and turn on low power mode @ 40%

STEPS FOR SHORTCUT APP:

➡️ Press the ➕ button on the top right > click “open app” should be under suggestions > select your application next to “open” > click on “open app” right above and rename “open app …” > select “add to Home Screen” then rename to the application name and add your color screenshot by clicking on the icon next to the name > when finished press add & voila! Arrange how you like 😚

4. Lock Screen

➡️ The heart tagline is from the Widgetsmith app as well but on the Lock Screen tab under text widgets.

➡️ The task for the day is from the minimalist app and it doesn’t work for some reason but it’s cute & I use the other widget so it doesn’t matter lol

➡️ That music icon is from shortcuts. I have it set up to play my recently played music when I click on it. That’s a wholeeeee other thing so if anyone is curious about shortcuts I can make a whole post!

➡️ The weather icon is from Widgy and it can be found on the “create” tab under “getting you started” as “weather now”

Anyways that’s all I have. I tried to be as detailed & user friendly as possible. Definitely open to answering questions or anything of the sort. Enjoy !! 💕💕💕💕
