Not gonna lie I give it a 4

... Read moreThinking about getting an industrial piercing? I totally get the nerves! Before I got mine, I scoured the internet for real experiences, especially regarding the pain. So many people said it was one of the most painful piercings, which honestly made me hesitate for a while. But I finally took the plunge, and I’m so glad I did! Here’s my honest take on the industrial piercing pain scale 1-10. For me, the actual piercing process was incredibly quick. I braced myself for the worst, but before I knew it, it was over. The first hole felt like a sharp pinch, maybe a 5/10, but because it’s two separate punctures, the second one felt a tiny bit less intense, probably a 3/10. Averaging it out, I’d comfortably rate the immediate pain during the piercing itself at a 4/10. It wasn't completely painless, but it was definitely manageable and fleeting. I think having a skilled piercer who was quick and efficient made a huge difference. Now, let's talk about the days after. The initial throbbing for the first few hours was a solid 6/10, but it wasn't a constant, unbearable pain. More like a dull ache that reminded me I had a fresh wound. Swelling is also really common with an industrial piercing, so don't be alarmed if your ear feels a bit puffy. For the first week, sleeping was a bit tricky. I had to be super careful not to lie on that side, which sometimes led to a bit of discomfort if I accidentally bumped it. I'd rate the general soreness during the first week at about a 3/10, mostly just an awareness of it rather than sharp pain. Aftercare is absolutely crucial for minimizing pain and ensuring a smooth healing process. I diligently cleaned it twice a day with saline solution, making sure to gently remove any crusties. Avoiding touching it, snagging it on hair or clothing, and not sleeping on it significantly reduced any potential pain spikes. I also found that wearing my hair up helped a lot to prevent irritation. After about two weeks, the pain had pretty much subsided, and it just felt a little tender if I pressed on it. The overall healing journey can be lengthy for industrials, often 6-9 months or even longer, so patience is key. While the initial pain was low on my personal pain scale 1-10, remembering that the aftercare prevents future discomfort is essential. If you're on the fence, I say go for it! Just make sure you find a reputable piercer and commit to the aftercare.

It doesn’t hurt much I only felt the second hole and it was only a pinch but you can take Tylenol before hand to combat the pain and make sure you eat or have some soda or something sweet next to you in case you feel faint
