I DON’t WANT MEN ON MY PAGE!

I’ve always noticed that my Instagram has way more men than women in my views and as I check my analytics I found out that only 11% women interact with my posts!

That was truly shocking and pretty disheartening 😭 I could go so far if I had women support!

I feel like I appeal to women but I only get showed to men and get my content shared from men. I feel like I post things that girls relate to on my story but my algorithm don’t push my content to women!

Now I’m not saying that I don’t want any male followers but I absolutely don’t want men to be outnumbering women on my Instagram.

I want to meet other women who I can relate to and laugh with.

I feel like my personality is very goofy and relatable to women but how can I relate to women when their not present 😭😭

If you mess with me give me a follow on Instagram I don’t bite! I’m way more likely to text back to women than men.

I just want Instagram to push my content to women 😒

... Read moreIt's so frustrating when your Instagram audience doesn't match who you're trying to connect with! I totally get that feeling of seeing your analytics skew heavily towards one gender when you're aiming for a different vibe. I've been there, wondering, 'WHERE ARE THE WOMEN AT?!?' It's not about hating on anyone, but when you're trying to build a #girlsgirl community, seeing stats like 'I DON'T WANT MEN ON MY PAGE!' reflected in your demographics can be really disheartening. The OCR showing 89% male and 11% female really hits home for many creators. So, how do we actually shift those Instagram follower gender demographics? First, really dive deep into your existing analytics. Beyond just the gender percentage, look at the age groups, locations, and even the interests of your current female followers. What content of yours does resonate with them? Pinpoint those posts and stories that got genuine engagement from women, and try to replicate that success. Are there specific hashtags or times they are most active? Understanding these patterns is key to attracting more of your ideal #girlsgirl audience. Next, think about your content strategy with a laser focus on attracting women. What kind of relatable experiences, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or empowerment topics genuinely appeal to a female audience? Consider collaborating with other female creators whose audience aligns with yours. Engage actively in their comments sections and stories. Sometimes, it’s about subtly signaling who your content is *for*. For example, if you're sharing a personal story about friendship or self-care, frame it in a way that truly speaks to women's shared experiences, fostering that sense of connection. Another thing often overlooked is how much of your personal life you share and what image you project. While the original post isn't about boyfriends, the broader idea of managing one's social media presence—for instance, choosing 'I don't post my boyfriend on social media'—can impact who your content reaches and who it attracts. If your primary goal is a strong female community, consider if certain types of content or a specific personal brand might inadvertently attract a different demographic than you desire. It’s all about intentionality in your online persona. You want to make sure your profile visually and thematically shouts 'this is a space for women!' Finally, don't underestimate the power of direct engagement and community building. Respond thoughtfully to comments from women, participate in female-focused groups or communities on other platforms like Lemon8, and bring that supportive energy back to your Instagram. Sometimes, it feels like we're fighting the algorithm, but by consistently creating content for women, engaging with women, and using relevant hashtags that resonate with your desired audience, you can gradually start to see that shift. It takes time and effort, but building that authentic connection with your ideal female followers is incredibly rewarding for creating a truly supportive and vibrant online space. It's about finding your tribe and making sure they know this is their digital home!
