this is maizey mae she’s our third kitty babe. when she was a kitten she loved snuggles and to be by you constantly but as she’s gotten older the tortitude has really hit.
a little about her:
- she’s a year old
- her birthday is april 14, 2024🎉
- she is my second polydactyl baby 🐾
- she loves her siblings and often you find them all snuggled together but she does love to play fight as well 👊
- she is what’s called a torti based on her coloring🧡🤎
how i got her:
i had moved out of my parents house and only taken gidget but when i moved gidget got lonely and a kiddo that i would watch sometimes cat had kittens.. my cousins cat had also had kittens but i fell in love with maizeys coloring and then when i saw she was polydactyl also i knew she was going to be coming home with me!
she is quite large considering how small she was as a kitten and even tho she does get attitude she’s still the sweetest girl.

This trait doesn't affect their ability to climb, run, or play; in fact, it may even give them enhanced dexterity. Tortoiseshell cats, often called "torties," are known for their unique patchwork coat with blended black, orange, and sometimes cream colors, making each one visually distinctive. Their vibrant fur coloring often corresponds with a fiery and independent personality, which cat lovers affectionately refer to as "tortitude." This playful attitude combined with a loving nature makes tortoiseshell cats particularly endearing to their owners.
Adopting cats like Maizey Mae often involves picking up a furry friend with a story—whether it is from a known cat breeder, friends, or family, as evident in this personal tale. Cats are social animals, and introducing a new cat to an existing pet, like Gidget, requires time and patience to build sibling bonds. Often, cats form tight-knit groups where they snuggle and groom each other, as Maizey Mae enjoys with her siblings, but they also establish hierarchies through play fighting to maintain social harmony.
Celebrating a cat's birthday, like Maizey Mae's on April 14, 2024, is a way pet parents cherish their companions and mark the milestones of their pet's life. Taking care of a polydactyl cat means providing standard cat care but also being aware of any extra toes to prevent nail issues. Regular vet visits are important for ensuring their well-being and longevity.
Overall, the bond between humans and their feline friends is strengthened by understanding each cat's unique traits, history, and personality, which turns everyday moments into cherished memories. Maizey Mae’s journey from a kitten to a mature cat with "tortitude" reflects the richness of cat ownership and the joy of welcoming special companions into our lives.
