Today I decided to clean the windows 🧼🫧✨
This Wednesday, I tackled the dreaded window cleaning task using Weimans Glass Cleaner. I have to admit, I’m not a fan of cleaning windows, but I’ve discovered a little hack that makes it easier. If you don’t want to go outside to clean, you don’t have to! You can simply flip the window inside towards you and clean it from the comfort of your home. It’s such a game-changer!
After trying that amazing trick of cleaning windows from the inside, I realized that getting truly streak-free results takes a few more steps. My secret for how to clean windows without streaks? It's all about the tools and technique! I always start by dry brushing the windows to get rid of loose dust – a hack I learned from a pro. This simple step prevents dirt from turning into muddy streaks. For the actual cleaning solution for outside windows, while products like Weiman's Glass Cleaner work great, I've also had success with a simple home remedy for cleaning windows: a mix of warm water, white vinegar, and a tiny drop of dish soap. This homemade solution is fantastic for both inside and outside glass and helps prevent streaks. Just make sure to use distilled water if your tap water is hard for an even cleaner finish! Many professional window cleaner solutions also rely on similar principles with added surfactants. And for drying? Forget paper towels! They can leave lint. My absolute game-changer for streak-free windows hack is a good quality microfiber cloth for cleaning windows. I use one specifically designed for glass, or even a clean, lint-free cloth. If you're going for a truly professional finish, a squeegee is your best friend – pull it down in overlapping strokes, wiping the blade after each pass. This window cleaning hack makes a huge difference. Speaking of tricky spots, sometimes the issue isn't just dirt, but foggy windows in house from condensation or even mold on window sills. For fogginess, ensuring good ventilation helps a ton. And for mold, a simple scrub with a bleach-water solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water) or white vinegar can work wonders to kill it and keep your sills looking fresh. Remember to wear gloves when dealing with mold! These extra steps, combined with the 'flip the window' approach, have made my window cleaning routine so much more effective and less of a chore. It really helps increase the light and freshness in my home without all the hassle – truly cleaning therapy!
