THINGS I DO AS AN EXCLUSIVE PUMPER

I Recently switched from exclusively nursing to exclusively pumping and this are some of the things that are working for ME❤️

✨HAVING A SCHEDULE: I try to pump every day at the same time (every 4 hours). My baby is 4 months old and I tried to create a schedule that works for us, I only pump 5 times a day and it hasn’t lower my supply.

✨DRINK COCONUT WATER: I drink a bottle of coconut water once a day to stay hydrated ( I hate the taste tho).

✨USE PUMPING SPRAY: It makes the nips feel more comfortable and reduce friction while pumping.

✨PUMPS IN THE FRIDGE: I wash my pumps every 2 and 3 pumps, it means I wash them after I pump at 11 am and then after 11pm.

✨TONS OF BODYARMOR: This is definitely my favorite hydrating drink, they have a lot of different flavors and all of them are delicious!

✨LACTATION COOKIE BITES: They are soooo tasty!! And definitely increase my supply. I eat 1 bag every 2 days.

✨RIGHT FLANGE SIZE: This is really important to me cause pumping with the wrong size can cause clogged ducts, discomfort, pain and can decrease your milk supply.

... Read moreBeyond the daily routine, I've discovered a few more game-changers that truly elevate the exclusive pumping experience. When it comes to your exclusive pumping setup, having a dedicated, comfortable space makes all the difference. I found that creating a 'pumping station' with everything I needed within reach – water, a snack, my phone or a book, and a hands-free pumping bra – significantly reduced stress. Investing in a good quality double electric pump was crucial for efficiency, and I even tried wearable pumps for ultimate freedom. Remember how important flange size is? Don't be afraid to experiment if you're feeling any discomfort; even a millimeter can change everything. One of the most effective strategies I've incorporated into my routine, especially when I felt my supply dipping or just wanted to give it a boost, is power pumping. If you're wondering about before and after power pumping results, let me tell you, it can be a game-changer! Power pumping mimics a baby's cluster feeding, signaling your body to produce more milk. My typical power pumping session would involve pumping for 20 minutes, resting for 10, pumping for 10, resting for 10, and then pumping for another 10 minutes. I usually did this once a day, often in the morning, and within a few days, I noticed a definite increase in my daily expressed milk volume. It's a commitment, but the results were incredibly motivating. Hydration is something I can't stress enough. While coconut water and Bodyarmor hydration drinks are great, simply keeping a large water bottle close by and constantly refilling it is key. I aimed for at least 3-4 liters a day. Pairing this with nutrient-dense meals really helped fuel my body for milk production. And let's talk about those lactation cookie bites – they're not just a treat, they genuinely help! Another tip I swear by is breast massage and compression during pumping. Gently massaging your breasts while the pump is running can help empty them more effectively and signal for more milk production. I also learned to listen to my body. If I felt unusually tired or stressed, my supply would often take a hit. Prioritizing rest, even short naps, and finding moments of calm made a noticeable difference. Exclusive pumping is a marathon, not a sprint, and being kind to yourself is just as important as any pumping schedule or product. These additional steps, I believe, are vital for maintaining both a healthy milk supply and your overall well-being as an exclusive pumper.

I’m 9 months postpartum, and my supply never dipped. Here’s what I consistently did — and why it matters: • pumped on a strict schedule, not by “feeling full” (milk supply is driven by milk removal) • kept my middle-of-the-night pump for months (prolactin levels are highest at night)
