Do You Do Yoga? I need your advice 🧘🏿♀️🌸🎀
Starting my day with some yoga and a smile! 🌸✨ ☺️ I am officially a Yoga Girlie *cue the confetti* One more week to go and I will have been doing this for 2 months! I am so glad I set the intention of trying something new.
But, I need your advice, if you’re more advanced in yoga please tell me, what can I do to support my neck more on the mat? Sometimes after I am done with a flow when I sit up after laying on the mat I feel like the blood flow from my head on down. How do I manage the head rush? Is it a sign of needing neck support? Thank you so much in advance for answering this. 💗
As a plus size girl, here’s my best advice for anyone looking to try yoga:
🌸First, don't be afraid to modify the poses to fit your body. It's not about perfection, it's about feeling good.
🌸Second, listen to your body and take breaks when you need to. Don't push yourself too hard.
🌸And finally, don't compare yourself to others. Every body is different and that's okay.
to finish out my morning, I ate a good breakfast and then got ready for my Journal Club meetup which I decided to host at the park. It was a beautiful day outside.

Yoga is an incredible practice that offers numerous benefits, including improved flexibility, strength, and mental wellness. If you are just starting your yoga journey, it’s essential to develop a customized approach that suits your physicality and personal goals. Many beginners face challenges, particularly when it comes to neck support and head rush. Here are some tips to help you manage these concerns effectively. 1. **Utilize Props**: Incorporate yoga props like cushions or blocks to provide extra support for your neck. They can help maintain proper alignment during poses and reduce strain. 2. **Focus on Breath Control**: Learning how to control your breathing can significantly ease feelings of dizziness or head rush. Concentrate on deep inhales and exhales throughout your practice to enhance circulation and oxygen flow. 3. **Gentle Transitions**: Be mindful of how you transition between poses. Instead of abruptly moving from lying down to sitting, try rolling to one side before pushing yourself up. This can help to prevent sudden changes in blood flow. 4. **Strengthening Exercises**: Incorporate gentle neck and shoulder strengthening exercises into your routine. This can improve support during yoga sessions and alleviate discomfort. 5. **Consult with Professionals**: If you're experiencing consistent issues, don’t hesitate to consult with a yoga instructor or physical therapist. They can provide personalized advice tailored to your needs. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of body type or skill level. It's crucial to listen to your body, take breaks, and remember that the journey is about growth, not perfection.
