My first ever crystal

This is my first crystal, I got it age 9 while still living in Portugal.

I had an obsessions with rocks, precious stones and crystals at the time. I’d even collect bricks and hide shards under my bed. I don’t know what it was about crystals that felt so inviting.

There was a national geographical type magazine in Portugal that would release weekly or monthly issues with gifts. At this particular time the gifts were crystals. I was looking forward to having an entire collection of them. The first was this perfectly created amethyst…

I never got to collect the others because immediately after this my mother and I were travelling to England.

I never got to have my collection.
