External religion can make us look neat.

But only Christ purifies us from within.

The question is not, "Am I doing well enough?"

But "Has my heart been rebuilt?" ❤️

Ezekiel 36: 25-27 was said in a context in which Israel failed, was taken into captivity, and made God's name despised among the nations, so God announced a plan of restoration deeper than returning to the land - namely, returning to Him.

He said,

"I will sprinkle you with clean water...

I will give you a new heart...

We will please the stone...

I will put my soul within you.

And make you walk in my statutes.

Note the order of the promises:

Cleansing → New Mind → Spirit → Obedience

Keeping the commandments is therefore not a condition for God to receive us.

But as a result of his rebuilding us, ✨

The same principle is reflected in Revelation 14: 12.

"The perseverance of the saints, those who keep God's commandments, and their faith in Jesus."

Belief in Jesus came first.

Keeping the commandments followed.

This is the heart of the Gospel - redemption that changes inner nature, not just external behavior.

- The character of God.

In this passage, we see God:

Pure - does not lower the legal standard.

Fair - not ignoring sin.

Mercy - Give a new heart instead of destruction.

He demands nothing that man cannot do.

But he gave me the power to do it.

So good begins with God.

Not from human will. 🌿

- Humans can do good with a variety of motives:

For image.

To avoid blame.

In exchange for salvation,

For their own satisfaction.

This is "external goodness."

But the new heart is totally different. 🔥

Do good because I love God.

Obey for appreciating His character.

And hate sin because it destroys the relationship with Christ.

External goodness tries to control behavior.

New minds change motivation.

And if there is no rebirth,

Holding the commandments will become a burden.

But when the heart is rebuilt,

Obedience is joy.

- A tangible decision today.

Today, don't just ask

"Do I hold the commandments?"

But ask:

"Has my heart been rebuilt?"

Clear decision:

Pray faithfully. Reveal a hardened heart.

Deep study of the word.

Allow the Spirit to examine motives.

All life offerings, not halves.

God has promised to give a new heart.

The question is, will we allow him?

Prayer

Holy Father. 🕊

Please take the stone away from me.

Create a new heart that loves Him more than loves himself.

Give me my goodness.

Is the fruit of the Spirit.

Not the effort of the flesh.

May I have faith in Jesus.

And keep the commandments with a renewed heart.

Until the day he returned.

As you prepare the house,

May He provide the heart.

As you clear the workload,

Purify your toil, anxiety, and hardness.

May the peace of heaven cover your home.

And let this Sabbath be the time when He changed the rock.

To be a living heart again. ✨
