For us to die for sin and live in righteousness.

By His wounds, we are healed.

🔍 The meaning of "he who is perishing."

The Greek word (apollymi) means

Perish

Destroy

Lose.

In 1 Corinthians 1: 18, the word is in the form that conveys

"Those who are destroying themselves."

It shows that those who perish suffer the result of their choice to reject God, not because God wants them to perish.

⚖️ So why does 1 Corinthians 1: 19 say that God destroyed

Paul quotes from Isaiah 29: 14.

God will destroy.

The wisdom of the arrogant.

Arrogance

A system of ideas against Him.

So...

Humans choose to destroy themselves by rejecting grace.

God judges and puts an end to what is already self-destroying.

The two statements are therefore not contradictory.

Salvation is an act of God.

Not the work of man.

It is God's grace to believers.

We are being saved, for God is the Savior, not ourselves.

📖 Romans 6: 23 is linked?

Death is the result of sin chosen by man himself.
