Colorado in May is truly a remarkable time to experience the state’s diverse natural beauty. From snow-capped Rocky Mountains to blooming wildflowers in the valleys, the scenery transforms into vibrant colors and refreshing vibes that are hard to find anywhere else. One of my favorite things about visiting or living in Colorado during this season is the opportunity for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and simply enjoying scenic drives. The weather tends to be pleasantly mild—not too hot or cold—making it ideal for exploring. Many trails open up from winter closures by May, and the wildflowers start to bloom, adding bursts of color across the landscape. I always recommend checking out places like Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs or the Maroon Bells near Aspen, which offer amazing photo opportunities and peaceful nature walks. The freshness of spring air combined with stunning views motivates me to get outside daily during this time. Living in Colorado, I feel very lucky to witness these changes every year.
