how it started vs. how it’s going
Reflecting on my personal journey, I can truly say that the transition from being an attendee at lively parties to stepping onto the stage as a model has been both thrilling and empowering. Initially, I was just someone who enjoyed the atmosphere and energy 'from partying at the venue,' soaking in the vibe and admiring performers. But as I grew more passionate about fashion and self-expression, I decided to take the leap and participate directly as a model. This experience taught me the importance of confidence and preparation. Walking on stage requires not just physical poise but also mental readiness. Practicing poses, understanding the audience, and embracing the spotlight helped me transform how I presented myself. Being a Filipina in the Bay Area, I found a unique community that values diversity and encourages creativity, which enriched my journey even more. Fashion played a major role in shaping my identity throughout this change. Selecting outfits that speak to my personal style and cultural background helped me feel authentic and empowered on stage. Each event became a chance to showcase not just clothes but my growth as a person. For anyone looking to make a similar shift from enjoying events as a guest to becoming an active participant or performer, my advice is to start small, stay true to yourself, and embrace opportunities that push your boundaries. The support from community and celebrating one's heritage can make the process even more rewarding. This journey has been more than just about fashion or being on stage; it’s about evolving and discovering new parts of myself along the way.
