Let’s chat… so many people say they believe in Jesus and the have faith but they need to see, they need proof, they need to know. NEWSFLASH that’s not faith. If you can see it, it’s not faith. If you need God to give you a sign show you a trick, it’s not faith. Faith is activated when we don’t know we just believe him for who he is in our lives. If we ask are given everything by the source and we still doubt that is not faith. Sometimes we have to stand on our faith alone even when everyone else around us can’t see, but God will continue to show himself to those who trust in his son and put him first.
... Read moreIt's easy to say 'Jesus hears you,' but what about those moments when you pour your heart out and feel like your words just echo into silence? I’ve been there more times than I can count, feeling a pang of doubt creep in, wondering if my prayers were truly reaching Him. It’s a common struggle, especially when we’re taught that faith means believing without seeing. But how do you cultivate that deep, unwavering belief and confidence when you’re facing tough times and answers aren't immediately visible?
For me, it began with a shift in perspective. I realized that 'hearing' doesn't always mean an immediate, tangible response in the way I expect. Sometimes, Jesus hears and provides comfort, strength, or a quiet sense of peace that wasn't there before. It’s a subtle assurance, a spiritual apprehension that He’s working behind the scenes, even if I can't see the full picture yet. This insight was a game-changer.
One time, I was going through a particularly challenging period, and despite constant prayer, nothing seemed to change. I felt utterly drained and disheartened. Instead of giving up, I decided to lean into the definition of faith I had learned: *complete trust or confidence in someone or something*. I started journaling my prayers, not just asking for things, but expressing my feelings, my doubts, and my continued reliance on Him. It wasn't about demanding a sign, but about reaffirming my trust in His character.
I also found immense strength in focusing on His promises, not just my problems. Reading scriptures that spoke of His unwavering presence and love became my anchor. It helped me understand that my hope isn't placed in an outcome, but in the One who hears. This practice slowly built up my spiritual resilience. It wasn't an overnight fix, but a gradual strengthening of my inner conviction.
What I've come to understand is that faith is a muscle – the more you exercise your belief without requiring immediate proof, the stronger it becomes. It’s about cultivating an inner knowing, a conviction that transcends what the eyes can see or what circumstances dictate. Even if the answer to your prayer is 'wait' or 'not yet,' the very act of praying and maintaining that dependence on Jesus strengthens your spirit.
So, if you're wrestling with the question of whether Jesus hears you, remember that faith is an active choice of belief and *dependence*. Keep talking to Him, keep trusting, and watch how He reveals His presence in ways you never anticipated, often through that quiet, unseen reassurance that He is always, always listening. Your steadfast hopefulness in His hearing is a testament to true faith.
