Bo Ne Ba Nui & Food Hunt Around the Area

If you're heading to HCM soon, you'll definitely be visiting this popular Bo Ne Ba Nui store and there're actually other tasty local food places nearby!

The sizzling bo ne was so satisfying. Tender beef, runny egg and crispy baguette soaking up all that peppery sauce 🤤 Simple, comforting and hits the spot especially when eaten hot.

There’s a Pho Phu Vuong right opposite and it turned out to be one of the best beef pho we had on this trip. The broth was rich and flavourful, the noodles were fresh and nicely chewy, so comforting.

And don’t skip their fresh juices! I had the carrot juice and it was so good, unexpectedly addictive 🥕

Also, keep an eye out for Che Me Den (Sugar-Free Black Sesame Dessert) nearby! They sell flans and black sesame paste, and we spotted plenty of locals while we were there — always a good sign 👀

Prices are very affordable, and taste-wise it feels light, healthy, and packed with rich black sesame fragrance. A perfect dessert to have after a bowl of pho or bo ne ba nui 😍

Do save this post for your trip to HCM if you’re planning a food hunt around this area!

... Read moreBesides the iconic Bo Ne Ba Nui and Pho, I found the nearby Che Me Den dessert shop a hidden gem. Their sugar-free black sesame flan and fresh juices, like the carrot juice, offer a perfect balance to the savory dishes. Prices are affordable, making it an ideal stop for a full meal or snack while exploring District 1. If you're planning a food hunt around this area, consider timing your visit to avoid peak hours for a more relaxed experience. Don’t hesitate to ask locals for their favorite dishes or drink combos at these spots — I discovered some delicious pairings that way. For fans of Vietnamese coffee, try the local Vietnamese iced coffee alongside your meal. The subtle coffee caramel flavors complement the bold spices of Bo Ne Ba Nui beautifully. Overall, this area offers a fantastic mix of traditional flavors that showcase Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant culinary scene.
