Claiming the Curse is book two in the Aralian series. The emotional typhoon this book took me through was incredible. I loved every minute!
Silas and Arianna are taken on an extraordinarily hard journey to save Silas from his illness. There are so many new and exciting characters along the way, and so many side characters with amazing potential for future books in the series.
The plot for Claiming the Curse follows the journey of both Silas and Arianna as well as expanding on the past and hinting at what is to come. Chelle does an amazing job weaving this story in a way that is a thrilling fantasy while also bringing that classic fairytale vibe.
If you haven’t started this series yet you are missing out on what could be one of your top series ever. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
... Read moreYou know, one of the things I absolutely adore about diving into a new fantasy series like Chelle Cypress's Aralian books is discovering the incredible character names! When I picked up 'Claiming the Curse,' I was immediately drawn into the world of Silas and, of course, the remarkable Arianna. Her name itself feels a bit magical, doesn't it? It has a classic, elegant ring to it, yet it perfectly suits a heroine embarking on such an emotionally charged and perilous journey. For anyone searching for a captivating 'girl name,' whether for a character in your own story, a game, or even a future little one, fantasy novels are a treasure trove of inspiration!
Thinking about Arianna from 'Claiming the Curse,' her name evokes a sense of strength and grace, a perfect match for the woman battling curses and navigating mystical forests, much like the one depicted on the book's striking cover. It makes me wonder about other names that carry a similar allure. When I'm looking for a truly unique and powerful girl's name, I often turn to mythology and folklore. Names like Lyra, Elara, Seraphina, or Isolde have that timeless, ethereal quality that just screams fantasy. They sound like they belong to characters with deep backstories and incredible destinies.
If you're inspired by the darker, more mysterious elements of a story, perhaps like the 'dark and corrupted' side of the woman's face on the cover of 'Claiming the Curse,' you might lean towards names with a bit more edge. Think about names that hint at shadows or ancient magic, like Morwen, Ravenna, or even a twist on something classic to give it a darker feel. Chelle Cypress herself crafts such evocative titles, like 'Unmasking the Curse' and 'Charming the Curse's Consort,' which make me imagine strong, intriguing female leads. These titles alone suggest names that are both beautiful and powerful.
When choosing a 'girl name' for a fantasy setting, I always try to consider the meaning behind it. Does it signify courage, wisdom, or perhaps a connection to nature or magic? For instance, names related to stars, moons, or ancient trees can instantly transport you to another realm. And don't forget the sound! Say the name out loud. Does it roll off the tongue? Does it fit the character's personality and the world they inhabit? It's all about creating that perfect blend of familiar and fantastical.
Ultimately, finding the right 'girl name' is a personal adventure. Whether it's the classic charm of Arianna, the mystical vibe of Lyra, or something entirely unique you've discovered, the goal is to find a name that resonates with you and truly brings your character or vision to life. Happy naming!
