“Finding Myself Again at 31… While Raising 4 Kids”

I’m 31, turning 32 in November, and I have 4 kids. People don’t talk enough about how much we lose ourselves as moms. After my first two kids, it was easier to bounce back… but now? My body feels different. My mind feels different. Some days I’m fighting depression while still pouring everything I have into taking care of 4 little humans.

I love my kids, but I also miss me. The version of me who felt confident, free, and like a person—not just a mom.

This is a safe space. What have you done to feel like yourself again? What helped you find your spark? Please share your thoughts, advice, and what worked for you. I need this, and maybe another mom scrolling does too. 💛

... Read moreMotherhood transforms life in profound ways, especially when raising multiple children. Many moms, like the author navigating life at 31 with four kids, experience physical and emotional changes that can feel overwhelming. It’s common to lose sight of personal identity amid the demands of childcare, leading to feelings of depression or isolation. Understanding postpartum body changes is key, as hormonal shifts affect both mental and physical health. Research shows that prioritizing self-care practices—such as regular exercise, adequate sleep, mindful meditation, and seeking social support—can immensely improve well-being. Joining communities like #lemon8mom and #momselfcarejourney offers a safe space to share experiences and advice, cultivating a sense of belonging among women supporting each other. Finding confidence again often involves small but consistent steps toward personal growth, whether through hobbies, therapy, or self-reflection. Experts recommend setting boundaries to balance caregiving with personal time, which helps restore a sense of freedom and identity beyond motherhood. This journey is not only about surviving but thriving—embracing the new version of yourself while honoring the mother you’ve become. Many moms find healing in connecting with others who validate their struggles and successes, reinforcing that the path to reclaiming self-love is shared. Mental health awareness and open conversations about postpartum experiences help reduce stigma, empowering moms to ask for help and prioritize their needs. Ultimately, finding oneself again as a mom of four at 31 is a powerful act of self-compassion and resilience. It’s about reigniting the spark that makes you uniquely you and embracing the evolving journey of womanhood and motherhood with strength and support.

I love how transparent you are in this post. I only have one child but it’s taken me 7 years to get back to who I was mentally. My body is slowly coming back with exercise and clean eating but it’s still such a slow process.
