Back-2-School Lunch Box Savings!

🛒 These prices are based on my local Walmart in Northern Kentucky. I do know Kroger/Publix also run great BOGO deals that make your out of pocket cost lower!

🍎 Back to school is already expensive buying new clothes & supplies! Then you have packing a daily lunchbox!

⏰ I understand every family is different and some have no extra time to prepare lunchboxes and others have the time. These are just some options to think about to save time or money sending your kids back to school!

🥣 yogurt cups - While it’s not a lot of savings coming in at 0.42 cents saved for double the amount of yogurt, if your child doesn’t have time to finish 4 oz of yogurt at lunch these can easily be portioned smaller to fit your needs!

🥜Peanut Butter Crackers - The upfront cost is more for the Crackers/PB individually but you are getting over double the amount of food for this one by making your own.

🍑🍒 Fruit Cups- For mixed fruit in the can you are paying $1 less than the prepackaged and only losing 1 oz. I def think that’s a great deal. 1 oz isn’t worth $1 to me especially if I have the time to prep these for the week at home. We do this weekly with pineapple in my home! $1.60 savings from can to prepackaged and you are gaining 4 oz of pineapple in the can for less money!

🧁 Mini Muffins - My family cannot get enough mini muffins! Sometimes the Little Bites are BOGO at my store and we buy them then but when I have the time we save by making them ourselves but don’t sleep on your grocery bakery they make excellent premade muffins the same price as Little Bites but about 4 oz more muffins! So if you are short on time skip the snack aisle and head to the bakery.

🍿 Prepackaged Chips - For the Doritos you are saving $0.54 and getting over 4 more ounces of food! With the Gold Fish you are getting 2 less ounces of food but saving a whopping $3.16!

🍽️ A few ideas that could help with packing your own snacks for lunch boxes! The upfront cost for reusable is higher but these are going to last years! And when using disposable plastic bags we try to reuse these for as long as we can by refilling with the same snacks to get extra use.
