... Read moreEvery birthday feels like a new chapter, doesn't it? As I hit another milestone, I found myself reflecting deeply on all the 'things I've learned in life' so far. It’s more than just getting older; it’s about accumulating wisdom, sometimes through triumphs, but often through challenges. I’ve realized that these personal lessons are truly the most valuable gifts we can receive and share. One of the biggest realisations for me has been the absolute necessity of personal growth and self-discovery. For years, I just drifted, not really understanding my own needs or desires. It took hitting a few walls to realize that investing in myself was paramount. Therapy, for example, wasn't something I considered until later, but it opened up a world of understanding about my inner child and how past experiences shaped me. It’s like finally getting a roadmap to your own being. Learning to be kind to myself, to truly listen to that inner voice, has been a game-changer. And it's an ongoing process – we're always growing, always evolving. Then there’s the crucial area of financial wisdom. When I was younger, money seemed like this abstract concept for 'adults.' But learning about things like a High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA) and understanding the basics of financial independence has been incredibly empowering. It’s not about being rich; it’s about having choices and reducing stress. Starting small, consistently saving, and educating myself about smart money moves has given me a sense of security and freedom I never thought possible. It's truly one of those fundamental 'things I've learned in life' that everyone should prioritize. Another huge area has been embracing new experiences and building a supportive community. There was a time I stuck to what was comfortable, but stepping out of my comfort zone – whether it was trying a new hobby or packing my bags for an unexpected trip – brought so much richness to my life. Travel isn't just about seeing new places; it's about seeing yourself through a different lens, adapting, and growing. Equally important is cultivating a community of people who lift you up. I’ve learned that removing myself from environments or relationships that drain my energy is not selfish; it’s self-preservation. Surrounding yourself with positive influences makes all the difference. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I've learned to truly bet on myself. There will always be doubts, fears, and moments of self-sabotage. But every time I’ve pushed past those internal barriers, every time I’ve trusted my instincts even when others questioned them, I’ve been rewarded. It’s about understanding your worth, learning from failures without letting them define you, and having the courage to pursue what truly lights you up. This journey of 'things I've learned in life' is continuous, and I'm excited for all the wisdom yet to come.

Twenty eight & the lessons I’ve learned
On Monday March 25th I officially turned 28 years old. This is what I’ve reflected and learned: - I have two years left to accomplish some goals I have in mind before I turn 30. - In my 20s I was dumb, carefree, didn’t know any better and now I’m kind of facing the consequences for that. -
