Depression & The Come Back 🫶🏽

We don’t talk enough about the grind it takes to bounce back after battling depression.

Flashback to 2022 in the first picture: I was at my lowest, neglecting myself and my needs, losing pounds from stress, feeling sick 24/7. Looking back, it breaks my heart to see how much I was hurting, drowning in negativity.

Fast forward to last month in the second picture: Have I fully recovered? No. But I’ve been showing up for myself, working towards a healthier me, mentally and physically, and prioritizing self care above everything else. Of course there are still rough days, but they’re balanced out by the lessons learned and the self-love gained.

Just a little reminder: you’re not alone, and it does get better 🫶🏽🤞🏽

... Read moreRecovery from depression is an ongoing journey, with many individuals facing unique challenges. It's critical to understand that healing is not linear; some days will be more difficult than others. Seeking professional help through therapy can provide tools to manage symptoms and build resilience. Journaling your feelings and experiences can be therapeutic, helping to process and reflect on your emotions. Surrounding yourself with supportive communities, either online or in-person, is crucial. Engaging in activities that bring you joy, whether it’s art, music, or spending time in nature, can significantly impact your mood and help ground you in moments of darkness. Moreover, nutrition plays a vital role in mental health; a balanced diet can influence energy levels and emotional stability. Remember, it's important to celebrate small victories during your recovery. Progress takes time, and each step forward, no matter how small, is a testament to your strength. You are not alone in this struggle, and sharing your story can inspire others to seek help and initiate their healing journey. Be sure to prioritize self-love and kindness towards yourself as you navigate through the complexities of mental health.
