I used to do this Salt mask all the time when I had very stubborn piercing bumps

Dealing with piercing bumps can be frustrating, especially when they persist despite regular cleaning. From my experience, using a non-iodized sea salt soak or mask works wonders for reducing irritation and swelling around piercings. The gentle antiseptic properties of sea salt help draw out impurities while soothing the skin. To make a salt mask, dissolve about 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt in a cup of warm distilled water. Soak a clean cotton ball in the solution and gently apply it to the affected area for 5-10 minutes once or twice daily. This helps reduce tenderness and promotes faster healing. Itās important to avoid harsh chemicals or iodine-based salts, which can irritate sensitive skin further. Along with salt soaks, maintaining good hygiene by cleaning the piercing with saline solutions and avoiding touching it with dirty hands enhances the healing process. Additionally, monitoring the bump for signs of infection such as increased redness, pus, or severe pain is crucial. If those occur, contacting a professional piercer or healthcare provider is advisable. Incorporating these simple care steps has personally helped me overcome stubborn piercing bumps and maintain healthy piercings.
