How I survive a 12hr shift as a CNA⚕️
ESSENTIALS✨
•Foldable Clipboard📋: You can get these from amazon I got mine for like $16 and I’ve been a CNA for a year now and it’s still good!
•Pens & markers🖊️: I love using colorful pens and markers when Im getting report and when Im writing down some reminders or notes, it just makes it more fun lol
•Water Bottle💧: Of course you wanna stay hydrated while working a 12hr shift
•HAND CREAM✋: Sanitizing your hands so many times all day is so drying on the skin and they end up looking all crusty, this is a must to keep them moisturized!
•Hair tie/clip: You definitely want to put your hair up especially when it gets messy😬
•Hair brush: You’ll never know when your gonna need to brush your hair🤷♀️
•COFFEE☕️: This is my holy grail to push through my shift cause waking up to work at 6:30am is not easy-
•Candy🍬: If for some reason my coffee isn’t working then I’ll eat candy throughout my shift to give me a sugar rush I personally love hi chews
•Toiletries🧴 : Simple things like lotion, deodorant, pads, tylenol or advil , body mist, lip balm, tooth brush, floss things like that just to be prepared
•Blue Light glasses 👓: When Im charting all day on a computer, I sometimes get a headache so having some blue light glasses help with that
•Powerbank🔋: I get mine from Tj Maxx I love the ones that are magsafe so you don’t need to carry a cord with you. And you’ll never know when you really need your phone and then it’s dead-
•Airpods🎧: When Im taking my break or my lunch these are a must cause I disassociate from the chaos at work✨
•Lunch bag👜: Having a cute lunch bag makes it just a little better, I use the Lululemon shopping bags lol
•Watch⌚️: I love using my apple watch I use it to count respirations, tracking time for post-op vitals and counting down the hours for my shift to end😀👍
•Bag🎒: I alternate my bags from time to time between cute canvas tote bags , a backpack, and my medium sized uniqlo bag
•Compression Socks🧦: These are a must, I get mine from amazon Walking and RUNNING all day are tiring for your feet and these help so much 🙏
•Comfy Shoes👟: My hospital allows us to wear crocs but if your facility allows crocs I 100% recommend crocs, but I also wear the Nike Zoom Air Fire shoes they’re also so comfy
