Future RBT ✨🧩💗

Two months ago, I thought I knew what I wanted to do. It fell through. 3 days ago a friend introduced me to a Registered Behavioral Technician. I wasn’t so sure but I did it anyways. Within that first lesson, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be. I was so thankful to have an off day yesterday to pour my heart into learning and studying more. 💖

As I embark on this new career path as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), it's essential to understand the foundational aspects of behavior analysis. RBTs play a crucial role in implementing behavior plans for individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of clients through evidence-based practices. The training includes learning various techniques used in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), such as discrete trial training and natural environment teaching. RBTs must also develop skills in collecting data and working with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to ensure quality care. Additionally, being an RBT often requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and their families. Sharing personal experiences, like my Valentine’s Day filled with learning and self-development, adds to the authenticity of this journey. In conclusion, pursuing a career as an RBT not only symbolizes professional growth but also personal fulfillment through service to others. Stay tuned as I document my journey, learnings, and reflections in this exciting new chapter!
