Okay, so I’ve seen all the buzz around Dossier’s Ambery Cherry, especially since it's known to be inspired by Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry. I was genuinely excited to get my hands on this amber cherry perfume, thinking it would be a more affordable way to enjoy that luxurious scent. The packaging itself, from the box to the minimal perfume bottle design, looked pretty chic and promising, just like what the OCR picked up – it truly gives off a sophisticated vibe. But y'all, after giving it a good few wears, I have to be completely honest: it just didn't hit for me. I really wanted to love it, especially with the notes of cherries, almonds, and tonka beans that are supposed to be so prominent. My expectation was a rich, boozy, slightly dark cherry with a warm, cozy base. What I got, however, felt a bit... thin? On my skin, the cherry note, which I usually adore, came across as a bit too synthetic for my liking, almost like a cherry cough drop at times, rather than a luscious, ripe fruit. The almond, which I hoped would add a creamy, nutty depth, was barely there for me. And the tonka bean, meant to bring that warm sweetness, seemed to get lost in translation. I was looking for that intoxicating depth and complexity that makes a cherry scent truly stand out, but it just wasn't delivering on that front. In terms of performance, I found its longevity to be average. It would last a few hours before fading into a very subtle skin scent, which isn't terrible, but I craved more projection and staying power, especially for an 'inspired by' fragrance that aims to mimic something so bold. The 18% concentration sounded good on paper, as the informational card noted, but it didn't translate into the powerhouse I was hoping for. Now, I know everyone's skin chemistry is different, and what doesn't work for me might be someone else's holy grail. Perhaps my nose is just too sensitive to certain synthetic notes, or maybe I had unfairly high expectations because of the Tom Ford comparison. I've heard others rave about it being a spot-on dupe, but personally, I felt it missed the mark in capturing the luxurious, multi-layered experience of Lost Cherry. While the Dossier ambery cherry perfume bottle looks sleek on my vanity, the scent inside just didn't capture my heart. If you're on the fence, I'd still say give it a try if you can, especially with Dossier's return policy which is pretty great. You never know, it might be your perfect cherry scent! But for those like me who are looking for a deep, rich, and truly boozy cherry experience, this one felt a little too light and artificial. I’m still on the hunt for that perfect cherry fragrance. What are your thoughts on Dossier Ambery Cherry? Did you have a similar experience, or did you absolutely love it?
