After vacation feelings... ☃️
Finally home, after this week's festivities, and here is how I feel...
I'm happy to be home.
I may not have the biggest or nicest home to come to, but being here really feels better.
It's just an odd thing to admit, but I no longer feel at home with my family.
My family is my husband and kids...
I no longer feel comfortable around anyone else.
It's a feeling that honestly made me sad this Christmas.
I don't think I had noticed how different I am now compared to my mom, my sister, my dad...
I used to think my life would be so sad and empty without them... and now it feels odd being around them for longer than a few days.
The reality of that is daunting to me, and I haven't fully understood how it makes me feel yet.
Don't get me wrong, I still love them immensely.
I appreciate them and who they are as respective people, but we've grown separately as adults, and I'm no longer the person they know.
My kids only see them once or twice a year and even if they think I'm not doing the best job raising them (nobody said this, it's rhetoric), I know I'm trying my very best.
I know my husband and I are doing all we can and know how to raise these boys in a way God would be proud of.
Of course, I still want them to visit.
I still want to see them.
However, I can't wait until I have a big enough home where I can just invite them, but I can go away to my room ... or kick them out!! lol
I don't even know if I'm explaining myself properly.
Do you understand where I'm coming from?
How do your Christmas vacations go?
