What I realised after losing my voice for 5 days straight

6/14 Edited to

... Read moreLosing my voice for an extended period was more than just a physical challenge; it was a profound lesson in appreciating the power of silence and the privilege of speech. During those five days, I realized how often we take for granted the simple ability to communicate freely and how easily we can become overwhelmed by the noise of constant talking and responding. The inability to speak forced me to slow down and rethink my approach to conversations and social interactions. I found that by not responding to every single stimulus, I was able to conserve my energy and focus on more meaningful exchanges. This deliberate decision-making in communication helped me prioritize what truly mattered instead of reacting impulsively to every situation. Moreover, this experience helped me embrace the concept of 'less is more'—less talking, more listening, and more thoughtful expression when I finally could speak again. It also taught me the value of patience and self-care, as rushing to speak or respond could have prolonged my recovery. From this experience, I gained new insights into slow living and mindfulness. Instead of rushing through conversations to get my point across, I started appreciating pauses and silences as vital parts of meaningful communication. This shift not only enhanced my relationships but also increased my inner peace and gratitude. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I encourage you to view it as an opportunity to cultivate calm, rethink your communication habits, and find peace in moments of quiet reflection. The privilege of speech is immense, but sometimes, silence can be just as powerful in helping us connect with ourselves and others.

✨ From PCOS to My First Pregnancy ✨
I dated my husband for 9 years and we’ve been married for 2. For as long as I can remember, my menstrual cycles were irregular and painful. In my early 20s, I gained weight rapidly and brushed it off as university stress, poor lifestyle habits, and lack of exercise — the “normal” uni life excuses.

This might honestly be my favourite series I’ve ever created, because it deeply resonates with me. For me, it’s not just about “not doomscrolling” — I still scroll on TikTok like everyone else. It’s about being intentional with what I do, the media I consume, and actually completing the things I se
