Read moreStarting an internship in real estate while pursuing an educational path focused on the environment and urban planning offers a unique perspective that many aspiring realtors might not have. Combining these fields allows for a deeper understanding of how communities develop and what factors influence property values and urban growth. I have found that learning about environmental science alongside urban planning helps me appreciate the balance between sustainable living and real estate development. From my personal experience, following my passions outside academics—like hiking, snowboarding, or even perfecting latte art—has taught me the importance of work-life balance. Engaging in creative hobbies such as sewing and embroidery, as well as participating in craft shows, not only enriches my personal growth but also helps build connections that are valuable in any career, especially real estate where networking is key. Living and studying in Flagstaff, near Payson, AZ, has given me insight into the unique characteristics of smaller cities and their real estate markets. The decision to stay in Flagstaff after graduation aligns with my goal to build lasting community relationships and establish a career focused on more than just transactions—it's about understanding residents' needs in conjunction with urban environmental factors. Finally, my journey as a newlywed and pet owner has enhanced my organizational skills and empathy, qualities essential for anyone entering client-oriented fields. To anyone starting an internship or career transition, I’d emphasize the importance of embracing all your interests and experiences—they shape you into a well-rounded professional ready to thrive in competitive industries.
