Monkey pod review
Aloha, foodies! I recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Ko'olina resort in Hawaii, and of course, a trip there wouldn't be complete without experiencing the renowned Monkeypod Kitchen. I've seen so much buzz about this place, especially their famous Mai Tais, so I knew I had to check it out for a proper food review. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere at Monkeypod was buzzing. It has this vibrant, open-air feel that perfectly blends with the tropical Ko Olina surroundings. The decor is chic yet relaxed, making it ideal for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or even drinks with friends. We were seated fairly quickly, even though it was a busy evening, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, truly embodying the spirit of aloha. Now, let's talk about the food! The menu focuses on fresh, local ingredients, which I always appreciate. We started with their famous Monkeypod Mai Tai – and let me tell you, it lives up to the hype! It's perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a delicious lilikoi foam on top. A must-try cocktail if you visit! For appetizers, we opted for the Garlic Truffle Oil Fries and the Ko'olina Poke Tacos. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned, but those poke tacos? Absolutely divine! Fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. For our main courses, I went for the Fresh Fish of the Day, which was beautifully prepared and served with seasonal vegetables. My dining companion had one of their wood-fired pizzas, and the crust was just phenomenal – crispy, chewy, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and showcased the quality of the ingredients. And you absolutely cannot leave Monkeypod Kitchen without trying their Banana Cream Pie. Seriously, save room! It's a towering slice of pure heaven, with a graham cracker crust, rich banana cream, and a cloud of whipped cream. It was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. Overall, my experience at Monkeypod Kitchen in Ko'olina resort was fantastic. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience. The combination of the lively atmosphere, top-notch service, and delicious, locally-sourced food makes it a standout dining destination. While it leans towards the pricier side, I felt the quality and overall experience justified it. If you're in Ko Olina and looking for an amazing meal, I highly recommend making a reservation at Monkeypod Kitchen. You won't be disappointed!
