Buy or Bye - PCOS edition
I’ve been seeing these around & thought why not do it for my #pcos girls!
Keep in mind - you don’t need to make these changes all at once. To be 100% with you, I still occasionally have store bought bread or cereal or a coke. If you’re looking for a lifestyle change, these are good alternatives, but it doesn’t mean you HAVE to make the switch.
If anyone is interested in #sourdough I got into making my own last year & it truly is so much better than store bought bread. If you want me to make a post on how I handle my sourdough, I’ll teach you.
My question for you is - would you have a hard time giving up any of these things? Are there any foods or drinks that are considered “junk” food that you feel like you should give up but aren’t sure of an alternative? I’ll help ya find one!
Again, I am NOT a medical professional. Just sharing my own experiences and lifestyle changes. All of our bodies are different & our pcos journeys are different. What works or doesn’t work for me may or may not work for you so always do your own research 🩷
Managing PCOS can be a challenging journey, but making mindful dietary choices plays a crucial role. When considering what to eliminate, start with sugary beverages like Coca-Cola and explore zero-calorie alternatives to satisfy your cravings in moderation. Homemade sourdough is not only gut-friendly but also a great low-GI choice compared to processed bread that spikes insulin levels. Cereals, often marketed as healthy, can be deceptive due to their high sugar content. Opt for whole food alternatives like eggs and fruits, which provide protein and are low-GI while keeping you full. Choosing fresh, unprocessed foods over convenience options will not only help in managing symptoms but also improve overall health. Implementing these lifestyle changes doesn't mean you need to overhaul your diet overnight. Take it one step at a time. Sharing experiences with others who understand can make this journey easier, so ask questions and seek out community support for the best alternatives suitable for your unique situation.
