Military Diet, Day 2
Wellness Habits
🧘 Habit 1: I go on the Military Diet when I want fast weight loss
🧘 How It Helps Me: I KNOW that I will lose 4 lb at the end, I always do & that makes me feel good immediately!
🧘 Habit 2: I don’t go by the diet to a “T”, I do my own version & I exchange the ice cream sometimes for whatever I want but stick to the calories that would make up the total ice cream calories (I still lose weight, so it doesn’t matter).
🧘 How It Helps Me: I will go insane & quit if I stick to it strictly!
🧘 Habit 3: I hate this diet so much but I make a habit to go on it in desperate times
🧘 How It Helps Me: I won’t go on it again for months bc I’ll be motivated to keep it off the right way as opposed to going on this diet again any time soon!
***Notice I made my own version and I just repeat day one for all 3 days!*** I’ve known about the diet since I was a child. My great aunt who was overweight and used to go on it all the time. So, I would eat the cheese toast with her sometimes and the apple for breakfast in the morning before school the times we stayed with her, funny memories and now I’m doing the diet myself as an adult the last 20 plus years.

Okay, so you're diving into Military Diet Day 2, just like me! Believe me, I know how challenging it can be to stick to a strict plan, especially when those cravings hit. My personal journey with this diet, going back to childhood memories with my great aunt, has taught me a lot about making it work for *me*. While the official plan has its guidelines, I've found that smart adjustments are key to not only seeing results but also to staying sane! Let's talk about the traditional Military Diet Day 2. Typically, breakfast is a slice of toast, one hard-boiled egg, and half a banana. However, many people wonder about variations like peanut butter and grapefruit. If you're looking for that classic Military Diet breakfast, Day 1 often features toast with peanut butter and grapefruit. When I'm feeling creative or just need a change, I sometimes swap things around, always keeping the calorie count in mind, just like I do with the ice cream on Day 1. It's all about finding what keeps you motivated without completely derailing your efforts. For me, sometimes that means a different kind of toast or a fruit swap if I'm not feeling the traditional options. Moving onto lunch for Day 2, the standard calls for one cup of cottage cheese, one hard-boiled egg, and five saltine crackers. Again, if cottage cheese isn't your thing, there are common substitutions you can explore, like plain Greek yogurt or even a small portion of lean protein. The goal is to get similar nutritional value and stay full until dinner. I've personally found that having a protein-rich lunch helps a lot with energy levels throughout the afternoon. Now, for dinner on Day 2, this is where things get a bit more substantial and honestly, a bit more exciting! The traditional plan often includes two hot dogs (without buns), one cup of broccoli, half a cup of carrots, half a banana, and half a cup of vanilla ice cream. In my own version, I often focus on lean protein and veggies. I've even seen my own meal plans for Day 2 featuring things like two sausages, green beans, and mashed sweet potato, which can be a really satisfying and delicious alternative. It's all about making those healthy choices within the calorie framework. Thinking back to when I first started this, I realized that if I didn't allow for some flexibility, I'd just quit entirely. That's why I'm always looking for ways to make these meals enjoyable while still hitting my goals. The key to success on Day 2, and indeed the entire Military Diet, is preparation and knowing yourself. Do you need variety to stay engaged? Are there certain foods you simply can't stand? Plan your meals, consider smart substitutions (always research or calculate calories to stay on track!), and keep your eye on that 4-pound weight loss goal. It's a short-term push, and remembering why you started can be a huge motivator. I use this diet in 'desperate times' for a quick refresh, and by customizing it, I prevent myself from feeling deprived and ensure I actually finish the three days. It’s not just about the numbers on the scale, but also about building the discipline to make healthier choices overall in the long run. Good luck with your Day 2!
