🌸Heyy yall🌸
Navigating relationships can be challenging, especially when emotions are involved and it's hard to see the bigger picture. From personal experience, I’ve realized how important it is to understand the difference between being maintained as a convenience and genuinely being valued as a partner. Often, individuals stay in relationships where their partner only offers superficial benefits, like material support or physical intimacy, but lacks emotional commitment or respect. This dynamic can feel confusing because it might seem like love, but it’s actually a form of settling. I’ve witnessed friends who spent time and resources trying to hold onto relationships where they were not truly chosen but merely tolerated or used for convenience. What helped them was a shift in mindset — recognizing their own worth beyond what someone else could provide. It’s essential to ask yourself: Does this person support my growth? Do they appreciate me wholly, or are they only around when it suits them? Moreover, the idea that someone 'keeping you around' equals choosing you is misleading. True choice involves active and consistent effort from both sides, mutual respect, and a desire to build a shared future. If your partner shows controlling behavior or only desires you to prevent others from having you, that’s a red flag of insecurity rather than genuine love. Empowering yourself means setting boundaries and refusing to settle for anything less than a partner who celebrates your worth. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you emotionally and mentally, not just materially. Through self-awareness and experience, it becomes clear that true love is a partnership where both individuals choose each other freely and wholeheartedly.
