This kind of behavior can feel exhausting and emotionally draining over time. What’s important is recognizing when this investment becomes unhealthy. Many of us tell ourselves we’re unbothered, but the truth is, stalking someone’s posts or asking others about their whereabouts signals deeper feelings of attachment or insecurity. It’s okay to acknowledge that and take steps towards healing. Shifting focus from others to our own goals and self-care can help rebuild emotional balance. I found it helpful to set boundaries on social media use, like muting notifications from certain accounts or limiting scrolling time. Engaging in activities that promote self-growth—whether it’s hobbies, exercise, or spending quality time with loved ones—also brings attention back to what truly matters. Remember, being too invested in others’ lives doesn’t just steal your peace of mind; it also takes time and energy away from your own happiness.
