🌸Heyy yall🌸
I've definitely been in situations where I reached out to people who only replied when they needed something, and it can really take an emotional toll. One thing I've learned is the importance of setting boundaries early on. When you notice someone consistently ignoring your messages until they want something, it’s a red flag. It’s okay to protect your energy by limiting your availability to these people. Also, communication is key. Sometimes, you can address the issue honestly — saying something like, "Hey, I feel like I’m only here when you need me, and I’d like to have a more balanced friendship." This can sometimes open eyes to their behavior. However, if they've shown they don’t value your time, it’s fine to distance yourself. Another important aspect is understanding that sometimes people are dealing with their own challenges, like work stress or personal issues, and might not be intentionally ignoring you. Giving some grace while maintaining your boundaries helps balance empathy with self-respect. Personally, I found that investing my energy in people who genuinely reciprocate care improves my mental health and social circle. Quality over quantity really matters. So, don’t hesitate to prioritize relationships where you feel valued and respected. Remember, you deserve to be treated with kindness and consideration every day, not just when others need something from you.
