I stopped drinking and smoking 🚫

My mom told me that every since I been In her womb I have been going to church and now that I am 23 i still go to church faithfully but even though I go to church I drank and smoked weed.

I started drinking and smoking weed my freshman year of highschool but it wasn’t heavy until I graduated highschool.

Honestly I don’t know the last time I went a month + without smoking or drinking. So I decided to take a break to get closer to God and learn more about my self.

It’s been a week so far and honestly it’s hard not to just pick up a blunt or shot especially when every one else around you does it.

I pray that this journey continues and that I can influence others tooo. #testimony #unfiltered #quitdrinking #quitsmoking

... Read moreQuitting drinking and smoking is a challenging journey that many face, especially when these habits have been part of one's lifestyle for years. Breaking free from such dependencies requires strong motivation and support, particularly when surrounded by peers who continue these behaviors. Turning to faith and spirituality can be a powerful catalyst for change, providing purpose and strength during difficult moments. Many studies have shown that aligning recovery efforts with personal beliefs can improve long-term success rates. When someone decides to quit substances like alcohol and weed, early stages often involve withdrawal symptoms and cravings that test their resolve. It’s common to experience social pressure and triggers that make abstinence difficult. Strategies to support this recovery include seeking community support groups, counseling, and engaging in healthy alternative activities. Maintaining regular prayer, meditation, or spiritual practices can also reduce stress and foster inner peace. Setting clear goals and tracking progress can motivate continued abstinence and build self-confidence. This personal testimony highlights a common experience: the desire to grow spiritually and improve one’s life by removing harmful habits. Sharing such experiences can inspire others who struggle with similar issues to seek help and believe in their ability to change. Remember, recovery is not a linear path, and setbacks may occur, but perseverance and faith can lead to lasting transformation and well-being.
