Resuming my photography hobby📸🤍🤫

In 2017 I got a camera kit because I found a passion for taking pictures. I love taking pictures so during high school I was taking pics of any and every thing. I took a break in 2019 cause of school and moving. Recently I decided to get back into it but more professionally. I can’t wait to learn more about settings and more about my camera so I can perfect my technique. I’d love to start taking sessions and getting paid for them. Now i’m just trying to build my portfolio so I have a lot of friends that’ll let me take their pictures. It’s exciting seeing how the pictures turn out and the editing process is so much fun. I love seeing the before and after photos. ... Read moreHey everyone! It's been such a rewarding experience "getting back into photography" myself, and seeing the positive response has been amazing. For anyone out there thinking about picking up a camera, whether it’s for the first time or after a long break, I wanted to share some thoughts on why photography makes such a fantastic hobby and how you can easily get started. First off, why is photography such a good hobby? For me, it's about so much more than just snapping pictures. It's a creative outlet that allows me to see the world differently, to capture precious moments, and to express my unique perspective. It’s incredibly satisfying to look back at a photo and remember the feeling, the light, the story behind it. It can also be a wonderful way to practice mindfulness – focusing on composition, light, and subject pulls you into the present moment. Plus, with every click, you're not just creating an image; you're developing a skill, learning about art, and constantly growing. The journey of transforming an ordinary scene into something beautiful is truly addictive! If you're wondering "how to start photography as a hobby," don't feel overwhelmed by all the gear out there. The best camera is truly the one you have with you. Start with your smartphone! It's an incredible tool for learning composition, light, and practicing regularly. Once you feel you've hit its limits, then consider an entry-level DSLR or mirrorless camera. You don't need the latest and greatest to begin; a used camera can be a fantastic, budget-friendly option. The next step is to learn the basics. This is where terms like ISO, aperture, and shutter speed come in. Don't let them scare you! Think of them as your camera's "eyes" and "brain." ISO, for example, controls your camera's sensitivity to light. A higher ISO is great for darker situations but can introduce "noise" or grain into your photos (this is what "isos love" might refer to – finding that balance!). There are tons of free resources online, from YouTube tutorials to photography blogs, that break these concepts down into simple, understandable lessons. I spent hours soaking up knowledge, and it made a huge difference in my shots. Once you know the basics, the most important thing is to practice, practice, practice! Take photos of everything – your pets, your food, your friends, landscapes, cityscapes. The more you shoot, the more your eye will develop, and the more confident you'll become with your camera settings. Don't be afraid to experiment and make mistakes; that's how you learn. After you've taken some shots, the editing process becomes another creative layer. Tools like Lightroom (which I love!) allow you to enhance your photos, bringing out colors, adjusting exposure, and adding your personal touch. Seeing the before and after is incredibly gratifying! As you grow, you might even start thinking, like me, about building a portfolio and perhaps even taking paid sessions. This is a natural progression for many hobbyists. Start by photographing friends and family, offer free shoots to gain experience, and always ask for feedback. Showcasing your best work consistently will help you attract clients when you're ready. So, if you’re contemplating starting your photography adventure, or like me, "getting back into photography," I say go for it! It’s a journey filled with learning, creativity, and endless possibilities. I hope my experience can inspire you to pick up that camera and start capturing your world!

photography and videography is a very low entry level hobby, but getting better can be a challenge. learning how to frame your shots is crucial when turning it from a hobby to something a bit more serious and professional. teaching your eye to see lines, grids, and triangles is important to learn,

Truth about getting back into Photography
I started photography when I was around 14! My first camera was a Canon SX50 HS! I started with nature photography and that’s when my passion really started. At 16/17 my next camera was a Canon Rebel T7. I continued with doing mostly nature but then start doing my brother and his wife maternity

how expensive is digital photography?
while film may seem like an expensive hobby, digital photography is also lowkey expensive because you have to pay a higher upfront cost and I'm no stranger to it lol. the only good thing is that you dont need to pay any additional costs and you can reuse cameras and all of the accessories #l
