Successfully captured moon

Capturing the moon on an iPhone can be tricky because the bright glow often results in an overexposed photo where details are lost. From my experience, the key is to adjust the exposure manually. On an iPhone 11, when you tap to focus on the moon, a small sun icon appears next to the focus square. Sliding this icon down reduces the exposure, which helps reveal more details of the lunar surface instead of washing it out. Another helpful tip is to use a tripod or steady surface to avoid any shake since low exposure settings can make the camera more sensitive to movement. Patience is also important; waiting for a clear sky without clouds or haze can make a big difference in image clarity. Experimenting with the camera’s native night mode and third-party apps that offer greater manual control can improve results as well. Personally, I found that with a bit of practice and tweaking the exposure settings, my moon photos looked much more like the lovely natural satellite I was trying to capture rather than a mere bright spot.
